Hey guys my car is a 1981 nissan 280zx Turbo I was driving it around yesterday fine and now today I go to try to start it and nothing it wont try to start over or anything. Everytime I turn the key to start it a light on my dashboard comes up and just says sensor thats it. Any suggestions

When I put my finger up inside of the exhaust pipe there is a black liquid in there. When I rev the engine it comes out on to the ground not very much though just little drops.

I Have a 1981 Nissan 280zx Turbo and I just noticed that there is a black liquid that is coming from the exhaust. My cars RPM also goes up and down just wondering if you guys have any clues what is going on.

I have a 1981 280zx Turbo when I start it and let it idle the rpm goes down and then comes back up it happens when I drive it around to. Anyone have any idea what it could be

Hey guys I have a 1981 Nissan 280zx Turbo and it will start up, but when it idles it goes from 1000 rpm to 500 rpm and then back up again it runs for about 5 minutes then it just shuts off. If I try to put the car in drive I can go about 500 feet before the car just shuts off. I will then try to crank it over and nothing will happen I have to let it sit for about 10 minutes before it will start back up. Any suggestions what the heck could be the problem.

So where is it located or do you have a picture of one and where it is

Im about four hours away from Salt Lake City I live down in St. George I have found the part just wondering how hard it is to replace

Joe the car will usually run for about 10 minutes if it is just idling and then will shut off then I will try to crank it over and it won't if I let it sit for about 5 minutes I will try to crank it over again and it will start up.

LOL I could be Im just going off what the dealer has told me and the pictures I have found on the internet either way I just need to know if it is very hard to change out that part or what you guys think could be the problem in the first place

It's actually called a crankshaft position sensor here is a picture of what one looks like Click Here This is how one website describes what the crankshaft position sensor does The CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR is used to detect engine speed It allows the computer to change injector openings with changes in engine rpm.
