  1. Thanks Tim,

Just got e-mail form the ones I bought the trans from, they will not warrenty the trans if I use a toggle, they recomment the Jegs kit.

Not only that they told me that my trans left there shipping dock with the trans on a pallet, which I did did not receive that way. So someone removed the pallet, Airborne Express. and also lost so misc. stuff that was suppose to come with trans.

    Thanks again Tim

  2. O.K.,

Just found another site that stated that I could just use a toggle switch to lock up the converter but did not say which wire/plug to hook-up to.

Stated, just need to toggle switch that puts 12 volts to the lock up converter.

Anyone have any info on this, which wire or prong on side of trany?

    Thanks

This would be the easies and quickest way.

This is how my 95 Ram is, switch on dash, so i'm use to doing this all the time.

    Thanks Again

  3. Thanks Tim,

Been to several sites, looking at kits. Lots of them.

I just do not want to open this trans up.

I have decided not to put the trans in till Fall, to darn nice out to take the car apart and knowing me it would be apart for awhile.

Drip and go till no more go. most of the dripping is in the garage and the on the back of the car.

If anyone on has a copy of instruction on installing a kit I would love to get my hands on it before I order one, just to see what I need to due be for hand.

    Thanks

    Adam

  4. Help,

    You is running the 2004r?

    Got some Q's

    Wiring?

Should the rear shaft wiggle about a 1/4"? but the trans is emty of fuild.

My TH350 wiggle but not that much.

    Help Thanks

I only want this car down for a weekend, not pulling until I get everything together first. Knowing me it could be apart for a long time, if I dont do all at once.

  5. Hello,

Just got the trany delivered today :D

I was told it would be in a crate and it was not and the converter was barly

in it with nothing holding in place so it has a little scuffs on the splines.

I have noticed that I need wiring for the trany to lock it up? Where to get what to do?

Another thing I noticed is that the rear shaft/spline wiggles  , is this normal?

The tran came from Florida Street and Strip/ Ebay.

I would hate remove my existing trans and put this in and find out its bad.

Well I will soon find out, plan on pulling engine and tran this coming week.

Any comments on what to look for and what to do about the wiring/ non computer.

Any help would be great Thanks

    Adam

  7. I have been to the site, lots of good information.

Myself I'm looking to do a low budget trany swap, because I know myself and know I will take this car apart again and again, till all is right.

If I get this low cost trany and it does not work out well at lease I will have something to rebuild, in my spare time, Right! spare time what is that?

    Thanks for the info

    Adam

  8. Thanks Carl,

From what I have been told and read the tranys are close in size the mounting of the rear mount is further rear about 6".

The tail shaft does not remove and spline is 27.

I have read the feed back on ebay and it looks good.

The 700r4 is lots heaver than the 200r4.

  9. Hello,

Has anyone bought a trans for TRANRUS on Ebay?

Does $575 sound high for 200R-4 trans?

On a buget and tired of cleaning oil from the back of the car.

    Thanks

    Adam

  10.

Well I said I will not work on the car for a while, wellits been a while, one month and now I have to take out the trany.

My turbo 350 decided to crap out and leak all over my garage floor. Oh well

    Good news bad news

Sold my 71 Chev truck, the one that I originaly took parts from to do my conversion. I have had this truck for 13 years and planed on restoring. Not no more.

    Looking for a 700R-4

Found one on Ebay, but would like to know if anyone has bought from them.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33727&item=2420691156

Will I ever be done with this car? Nope probably not.

What all is different between the TH350 and the 700R4?

    Any info would be great

    Thanks

    Adam

  12. Hello everyone,

It has been a rough 3 months of working on the car, coil-overs, sway bars, painting, interior, yard work, honey list, beer night and just getting ready to show this car to alot of people.

Last weekend was a local Cruise to Colby in Everett Wa.

Starts out with a gathering of a lot of American steel and horse power.

More then 600 cars showed up for the Show and shine and about 400+ cruised Colby the day before.

Now my car, Wow, I guess I did a all right job because I had more people around my car all day then the older steel around us. they were even waiting to look at it. The people that seen it during Cruise hunted me down first thing in the morning.

I still need to due more wet sanding and misc stuff, I can stop right now and just drive drive and drive this car, it love the road.

It was great just standing back and letting people look at something you built with your hands, some tools and a bunch of Great People on this site.

I have put up some photos in my personal area of today, have to wait for the pictures of the other cars when they get developed.

Had to share, I really don't think I will be working on this car for awhile.

Fun in the sun in Washington 8)

    Thanks

    Adam

    Thnaks

  14. Update,

Last night I took the car out for a test drive and didnt find my way home for an hour :).

The coil-overs/ suspension is awsome, the handles like a dream and just sh*ts and gets.

When I got back the better half was tipping her foot because I said I would be back in ten minutes, dinner was waiting.

so after dinner I took her for a joy ride, she was as happy as I was to see me and the car out of the garage. :D

Will be doing the rear brake conversion after this weekend with no pressure to get it done.

Need to make appointment for frontend alignment, drifts a bit to the left, but not bad for being taken apart and put back together with new stuff.

Tonight I will be taking the wheels off and checking everything over again, making sure all welds are good and my lugs are tight on the wheels.

    I'm a happy man!!

Thanks to this Web site, Modern motorsports Ross C., and everyone that has help me thought this project of fun.

    Man I'm learning alot!

    Thanks Again

    Adam

  15. Wow what a pain in the back, sanding buffing sanding.

Well all done for now ran out of time, so I'm calling quits on the paint job

The car looks 85% better then last year.

The car to me is a 5 foot car, got great shine, in the dark.

The only reason I have been killing myself on this car for the past two months is because the city I live in (Everett Wa.) is having a cruise to Colby. Last year I entered and the car was half sanded and front airdam

    was not painted.

This year new tires different grill, new wheels/tires, and the car shines or

at lease a little, still need to buff more. The car is one color ! :D

I have a question, I would still like to sand more of the orange peel out of the car but no time. Will it be alright to clean and wet sand after a month

    or two?

I plan on just driving the car the rest of the year the way it is and mybe do a bit here and there so I'm not down from driving the car.

    Any thoughts?

I need to do more painting to get better, so I think I will paint my bike to see if smaller is better.

    Still learning

Oh almost forgot I did gost flames on my hood coming from my hood scoop, doesnt look to bad looks marblely/gost flames, cant see them till your almost on top of them.

Had to share, I would right more but putting in words is hard to do some times.

Enjoy drive safe and keep smiling

    Adam :D

  16. Hello, update

Well it's been 9 months and over the winter my car gained weight.

Just got back from the truck scale and my came in at 2600 lbs.

rear 1300 front 1300. gained 80 lbs. everyone is loosing weight I'm

    gaining.

The difference from 9 months ago

My new tires and rims weigh 52 lb, 17 lbs more then the ones I had on.

Added more weight with the 1" front sway bar and 7/8" rear, didnt have rear. Added coil overs.

I'm not looking for top hauling speed, just keep me on the ground  .

  17. Hello,

I marked one of the stud and marked the inside of the lug and came up with this, I get about .53" or 13.46mm engagement into the lug and the stud measures .465 or 11.811mm.

counted the amount of turns and it came up with 8 threads/turns.

Looked at the front and what a pain, I need to take it all apart to get the studs out.

Also it looks that the front studs are shorter then the rear.

Centerline state to engage 1 time the stud diameter.

The torque state to be 75/85 ft. lbs.

I'm running out of time and monies, 10 day to go to have on road.

    Any input?

    Thanks

    Adam
