  1. Hi Guys, I just started doing body work and saw this all-metal filler and thought of using it instead of glass filler. I'm welding new panels and thought this might be better to fill in the gaps and feathering. Any thoughts? Thanks, Rick https://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=21824&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=639&iSubCat=640&iProductID=21824
  2. Hi Guys, Yes! another exhaust question. I currently have a stock 78 280Z 2+2 and my muffler just fell off. I have a Monza resonator http://i16.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/e6/75/4594_1.JPG that I would like to use and wouldn't be able to put the new muffler in the original location. I was thinking of using a Dynomax turbo muffler http://www.jegs.com/p/Dynomax/744698/10002/-1 by the drive shaft, unfortunately it might be a little tight. Does anyone know of a good round or small oval muffler that I could use. I don't wanted to be loud just a nice sound and would like to also keep the cost down. Another thing, is there anyone running a setup simmilar to this one. Stock engine, stock manifold, stock front muffler, new turbo muffler by the drive shaft and resonator at the end. BTW, stock pipe transitining into 2"OD after the front muffler. Thanks, Rick
  3. Keith, I'm getting ready to do the same, probably in the next 4 to 6 weeks. I did alot of research and here's a link that might be helpful. Also, let me know how it goes I also have a 78 but mine is a 2+2. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/ Good luck, Rick
  4. I searched and found energy suspensions had the best price and got free shipping. http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/categories.asp?cat=1328
  5. It won't be stock for long . I'm working on the body, suspension and exhaust this month. Anyway, I'm sorry guys I should have provided more details. I'm trying to set up a twice pipes exhaust down the middle like a Jaguar. I already have a heat shield but on a 280Z the tank hangs kind of low and thought by moving the tank up it would give me better clearance.
  6. Hi Guys, I’ll like to start with yes, I did a search but could not find details on this matter. I’m working on my exhaust and would like to cut out my spare tire wheel well to raise my gas tank to prevent my exhaust from dragging. My question is would I have to modify the tank in anyway. The reason why I’m asking is because it seems that the upper part of the tank by the gas hose fill might not allow the tank to go up. I would appriciate if someone that has done this allready would offer some feedback. Thank you, Rick
  7. Guys, Here's some info on this car: http://forums.thecarlounge.net/zerothread?id=2115791

  10. Hey Guys, Here are two options. I'm using the first one since I'm building a speaker box and I can intergated in to it. http://www.jcwhitney.com/Heater-Window-Defroster/600002304.jcw?in_dim_search=1 http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/tf-Browse/s-10101/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2002923/p-2002923/N-111+10201+600002300/c-10101
  11. I sent them an e-mail over a week ago because I could not get their shopping cart to work. I was looking to make a purchase but at this point I'll go somewhere else. BTW, I sent alfaparts.net an e-mail and I received a response with price, aprox delivery time and info on their product within a couple of hours. You may want to try them.
  12. Hey! beutiful car. So, what's the color??
  13. They are 4X100 with +42mm offset. I now need to figure out the type of adaptor I'll need.
  14. MJLamberson thanks for the positive response. Unfortunately, around here I only get slammed instead of getting constructive criticism or I'm told to use the search function. Anyway, these are 16X7s and I just bought them on eBay for $85.00 each including shipping. I'm planning on mounting 225-50-16 all around (My suspension is stock) and I'm replacing my 225-60-14s. This will definitely be an improvement especially after I get my new paint job in April. Thanks again MJLamberson, maybe I will send you a set. LOL
  15. Hi Guys, How do you think these would look on my 78 280Z. These are 16X7 ADR Spawn Wheels - Hyper Black. Sorry for the big picture.
  16. Hi Guys, Here is what I found. I can use a Grant hub part#3592 ($25) http://www.grantproducts.com/pc-305-1-3592.aspx and then use an adaptor from Grant to Nardi ($35)part#ND4041190604 http://sportscar-parts.com/mivastore/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=sportscar&Product_Code=ND4041190604
  17. I bought a Nardi on E-bay from a guy in Japan for about $80. I did a little sanding and a couple of coats of varnish and it looks as good as new. I'm now looking for an adaptor if I find one I'll post the info. Rick
  18. Daeron, I know what you mean, I've replaced transmissions on other car and have a good Idea what it entails. But occasionally there are some strange setups. I'm glad to hear is pretty straight forward. Thanks again, Rick
  19. Daero, Thank for the info, I might do it before it starts getting cold. thanks, Rick
  20. Thanks guys for your responce. I'll be rebuilding the engine by the begining of next year and I'll swap to a 5 speed then or maybe a six speed huh!
  21. Hi Guys, I recently bought a 1978 280Z and it came with a 4 speed transmission. So far everything I've seen shows the 78 280Z with a 5 speed. My question is where there any 78 280Z cars made with a 4 speed or do you thing this was a replacement some time ago? Also, if I decide to change to a 5 speed, not having any experience with Datsuns. this should be an easy swap right? Thanks, Rick
  22. It could be, I've never heard any type of sounds from this veh since I've had it (about 2 months) no key in the ignition alarm, lights or or any other. I assumed this veh does not have any of these options. Thanks, Rick
  23. Hi Guys, I bought a 78 280Z 2+2 a few months ago. In the past couple of days a buzzer started to go off when I start the car or turn it off. It last a few seconds and I don't know what it is or why it started going off all of a sudden. So far I've added a stereo system and a kill switch and no other changes have been made to the car. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks for your assistance. Rick
  24. Hi Guys, Thank you for the info. BTW, this is a 78 280Z not 79 typo. You guys made some valid point and I'm going to look at other options before I commit to anything. Thanks again, Rick
