  1. Hi Guys and Gals, I couldn't find my original post but it was about 2013. I'm still making 250 GTO light covers from crack proof plastic so you can use any old drill bit without worry of cracking the covers. I'm asking $120/pair and the shipping is covered with $30. Please email me at: mclapp5526@gmail.com so I can send more photos and details or feel free to call anytime at: 816-286-6982 to talk about the covers. I also make the hood scoops for $50/pair. If you don't have trim rings (who does), I have proprietary rubber seal that keeps out moisture/dust and gives a really finished look for $45/pair. Thanks, Mark Clapp 816-286-6982
  2. Hi Guys, I make G-nose and 250-GTO light covers out of crack proof plastic. You can use any old drill bit without worry of cracking the covers. Please email me at: mclapp5526@gmail.com or call anytime at:816-286-6982. Thanks, Mark Clapp 816-286-6982
  3. Hi Guys and Gals, I can't believe I first posted about the G-nose headlight covers I make in 2012. I'm still making them so if anyone is interested in a set please email me at: mclapp5526@gmail.com or call anytime at: 816-286-6982. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  4. Hi Guys and Gals, I get emails asking if I still make the ZG light covers and quarter windows and wanted to say that I do at the same price. Please email me at: mclapp5526@gmail.com with any questions and feel free to call anytime at: 816-286-6982 to talk about your car and the plexi pieces. Thanks, Mark Clapp 816-286-6982
  5. Hi Joey, sorry but I tried to make the standard Z light covers and due to the deep bubble shape, the edges bunched and waved. They must be vacuum-formed, which I'm not set up to do right now. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  6. Hi G-nose Fans, I noticed that I haven't posted in a while. I get emails asking if I still make the light covers for the G-nose Zs. I am still making them and would be glad to make a set for anyone wanting to finish out their cars. The plastic I use is crack-proof so you don't need the special drill bits for plastic like you do for acrylic (Plexiglas). Any old bit will do fine with no cracking. I made my patterns from OEM G-nose light covers. I make them in the OEM size to use under the trim rings. If you don't have the trim rings, I also make them in a smaller radius for a flush fit with the light bucket edges. For these I include L-braces made from the same crystal clear plastic to mount the covers with. From a short distance, the L-braces disappear and the covers look like they are floating on the car. I'm still asking $189/pair and the shipping is covered with $20 within the U.S. and $30 to overseas. I also make the quarter windows in the same crack-proof plastic and ask $60/pair for those. Email me at: mclapp5526@gmail.com if you have any questions and feel free to call anytime at: 816-286-6982 to talk about your car and the light covers. Thanks, Mark Clapp 816-286-6982

  8. Hi G-nose Fans, I just wanted to post and say that I'm still making the light covers for the G-nose Zs. The plastic will not crack. I make them in the OE size to fit under the trim rings. If you don't have the trim rings, I also make them in a smaller radius for a flush fit with the light bucket edges. I'm still asking $189/pair. 9. Hi Jason, I'll get some photos of the quarter windows up. I make them as an OE replacement and also in "competition" size that fully fill the window recess to eliminate the frame. Hi Zeeyah, I don't see a PM from you. Why don't you email me at: mclapp5526@gmail.com or better yet, give me a call anytime at: 816-286-6982 to talk about the light covers. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  10. Hi G-nose fans, I just wanted to post that i'm still making the G-nose light covers and quarter windows. I have a new email address: mclapp5526@gmail.com in case you could use a set of light covers or have any questions about them. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  11. Hi SpeedRacer, I don't have a line on the trim rings but you might try my friend John Washington at Reaction Research or Rock West Racing, who used to be the old Thunder Ranch. I've also seen where guys mask and paint a ring with chrome paint on the inside of the covers to get the look. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  12. Hi Guys and Gals, I just wanted to post that I'm still making light covers and hood scoops for the 250 GTO cars. I've delivered dozens of sets over the years with no complaints. I'm asking $80/pair and $20 covers the shipping. Feel free to email me at: mclapp5526@gmail.com or give me a call anytime at: 816-286-6982 to talk about the covers. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  13. Hi G-nosers, I finally received some photos of the G-nose covers I make in OE size fitted under the trim rings. These are on an OE G-nose that the owner will be installing on his car soon. I don't carry the trim rings and if you don't have them, I also make the covers in a smaller radius for what I call a "flush fit" with the edges of the light buckets. For the flush fit covers I include L-braces made from the same crystal clear plastic to mount them with (see the photos I've posted previously). I'm still asking $189/pair for either size. Feel free to email me at: mclapp1@att.net or better yet give me a call anytime at: 816-286-6982 to talk about your car and the light covers. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  14. Hi Guys, I will be making the quarter windows soon in the same crack-proof plastic I use for the G-nose headlight covers I make. I have OE glass and am making the patterns. I was wondering how much larger all around I should make them to fill the quarter window recess since the trim will be eliminated, unless you choose to install the pieces in your trim. Thanks for any help on this. Mark Clapp 816-286-6982
  15. Hi Casey, If you have glass I could borrow for patterns, I'll make what I can as a free set for you. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  16. Hi Wasey, I know I could do quarter glass and most likely the door windows. I will try to get some used glass to make patterns from. If anyone has some they don't need, I'll make them a free set in exchange. I need the dimensions of the hatch glass to see if it will fit in my oven. Thanks, Mark Clapp 816-286-6982 mclapp1@att.net
  17. Hi PR280Z, email me your address and I'll send you some. Hey Stroids, In that case, if you need some covers the shipping is free! When the weather gets nice again, lets take a drive in my GT40 replica. Its not a Z but still a lot of fun. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  18. Hi Guys and Gals. Its been a while so I just wanted to say I'm still making the light covers for G-nose Z cars. Since the trim rings are hard to get, I make the covers sized to "flush fit" with the edges of the light buckets. I also make them in OE size to fit over the light buckets if you have the trim rings. I'm still asking $189/pair. Feel free to give me a call anytime at: 816-286-6982 or email me at: mclapp5526@gmail.com if you have any questions.
  19. Hi RebekahsZ, the cowl hood would have to be made of lexan, which will take the heat of the engine. It is a harder process to form lexan as it needs to be dried first and then formed. It is also a very expensive material so a large hood would not be cheap. I will check which companies might do this and forward them to you. Best, Mark Clapp
  20. Hi GTOers, let me help you take your car up a level for this year's shows and cruise nights with a pair of headlight covers. The plastic can't be cracked and no special drill bits are needed like for acrylic (Plexiglass). Any old bit will do fine with no cracking. I've delivered dozens of sets with no complaints so far. I also make the hood scoops, which really complete the vintage look. I'm asking $80/pair for the light covers and $50/pair for the hood scoops. Feel free to email me at: mclapp1@att.net or give me a call anytime at: 816-286-6982. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  21. Hi Scott, the plastic I use is PETG. I just use plexi or plexiglass as a generic term by habit. PETG can not be cracked and as you probably know acrylic will crack in a strong wind much less take a rock or road debris. PETG is between acrylic and lexan and is much clearer and more flexible than both. It is more scratch resistant than even hard-coated lexan but costs 1/4 the price, which is how I can offer the parts affordably. I keep checking with plastics suppliers and they all say it is the best material for these applications. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  22. Hi G-Nosers, let me help you take your car up a level for this year's show and cruise night season with a pair of headlight covers. I've delivered dozens of sets with no complaints so far. I make them to either use with or without the trim rings. They can be drilled with any old bit since the plastic can not be cracked. I'm still asking $189/pair and shipping is covered with $20. Thanks, Mark Clapp mclapp5526@gmail.com 816-286-6982
  23. Hi NZX and Gnosez, sorry I didn't see your posts. I think the trim on the blue g-nose with my light covers is fairly common auto trim like Hypertek found on Ebay or at Autozone. You can do a "flush fit" with the covers inside the light bucket edges and then bridge the covers to the body with the trim. I know it comes in several widths and can be heated with a hair dryer to help with forming around corners. I think he used some 1/4" or thinner trim just to give the look of the trim ring. I'm looking for some T-seal that could be sandwiched between the covers and the body with the T bridging the gap and making somewhat of a seal. I'll post if I can find who makes it. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  24. Hi Mdantonio, sorry but I currently do not make headlight covers for the standard Z cars. I tried but due to the shape I think they need to be vacuum formed, which I'm not set up to do right now. Thanks, Mark Clapp 816-286-6982
  25. Hi rnye, I'm not aware of anyone making replica trim rings for the G-nose cars. I make the headlight covers in OE size to use with trim rings and also with a smaller diameter for a "flush fit" to the light bucket edges if you don't have the rings. A gasket, such as closed-cell foam tape, could be attached to the inside of the light buckets to help seal the light covers. Another way would be to use trim or T-seal (like on windshields) to bridge the covers to the body. I've attached some pictures of my covers fitted with and witout the L-braces that I include if you choose to use them to mount the covers. Thanks, Mark Clapp 816-286-6982
