  1. Hi Tony, that is too bad as we are not far from I70. Let me know next time and we can meet up for some dinner and beers. Mark C.
  2. Hi Guys, a few have asked so I thought I'd post that I can make headlight cover pairs in a day or so and I use Fedex ground for shipping, which only takes 2-3 days to anywhere in the U.S. I'm asking $189/pair and $20 should cover the shipping. If anyone would like a pair, you can send a money order to: 2501 SW Samuel Lane Lees Summit, MO 64081 or I can take Paypal at: mclapp5526@gmail.com if that works better for you. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  3. Hi Pecx, they will fit with the original chrome trim rings. I make them a little oversized so you can trim them to your individual trim rings/car since they can vary some. The plastic trims easily with sanding or whatever finishing tools you normally use. Also you do not need special drill bits for plastic like you do for acrylic. Any old bit will do fine with no cracking. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  4. Hi my name is Mark Clapp. I'm an individual and have been making plexiglass parts like headlight covers and windows for over eight years now. I make the headlight covers for G-nose Z cars. The plastic is shatter proof and will not crack. I can make them sized to fit over the headlight buckets to use the chrome trim rings or to "flush fit' with the body. I include clear L-braces to mount the covers with. From a short distance, the L-braces disappear and the covers look like they are floating on the car. I've attached pictures of some of my covers mounted with the L-braces. I'm asking $189/pair. Feel free to give me a call at: 816-286-6982 or email me at: mclapp5526(at)gmail(dot)com. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  5. Hi Rod, I'd be glad to make you a pair for your 250 GTO. I'm asking $80/pair and $20 should cover the shipping. Please call me at: 816-286-6982 or email me at mclapp5526@gmail.com which is also my Paypal address if that works for you. I will attach pictures of my covers on a nice 250 later. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  6. Hi G-nose Owners, thanks to super car guy Rick Merz and others on the forum, I can now make G-nose headlight covers. The plastic I use is shatter proof and will not crack so rocks/road debris are no problem. Also you do not need special drill bits like for acrylic; any old bit will cut fine with no cracking. I also include L-braces made from the same crystal clear plastic to mount the covers with. From a short distance, the L-braces disappear and the covers look like they are floating on the car. I've attached some pictures (I've never won a photo contest) to show the terrific clarity and luster of the plastic. I've also included one of my covers on a different car to show the L-braces. I'm asking $189/pair. My email address is: mclapp5526(at)gmail(dot)com and feel free to call me anytime at: 816-286-6982. The pieces are satisfaction guaranteed. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  7. Hi David (Dsommer), I've been waiting on a pair but I know the guy is a really busy man. I'd like to get these going as a lot of guys are interested. I tried to PM you but the system said you couldn't receive messages. Could I borrow your pair? I wouldn't damage them in any way and will return them in just a few days. My address is: 2501 SW Samuel Lane Lee's Summit, MO 64081. My phone number is: 816-286-6982 and email address: mclapp5526(at)gmail(dot)com Thanks so much, Mark Clapp
  8. I wanted to post pictures of the 250 GTO headlight covers I make. The plastic is shatter proof and will not crack. I'm asking $80/pair and I also make the hood scoops for $60/pair. Feel free to call me anytiime at: 816-286-6982 or email me at: mclapp1(at)att(dot)net
  9. Hi Guys, thanks for the offers, and please keep them open, but I'm expecting a set from Rick Murtz. If there is a problem, I will definitely contact one of you. Thanks so much, Mark Clapp
  10. If someone has a pair of G-nose light covers that I could borrow to make patterns from, I'd make you a free set. I would not damage them in any way and would return them in just a few days. That would be the fastest way I could make them available again. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  11. Hi Gothalosism, email me with your project. I've done lots of one-off pieces and would be glad to give it a try or help any way I can. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  12. Hi G-nose owners, you may have read my post about making plexi pieces like headlight covers for the 250 GTO replicas in the Body Kits and Paint section of the Forum. I'm an individual and have been making plexi parts for over eight years now and supply several replica makers and restoration shops. I have a form that I think would work on the G-nose light buckets. Would someone be willing to try a test light cover and help me alter the patterns if necessary? My email address is: mclapp5526(at)gmail.dot)com and my phone number is: 816-286-6982. If we can get the shape right, I'll make you a free set for helping me make these available. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  13. Hi 250 GTO owners. My name is Mark Clapp. I'm an individual and I make the headlight covers for the 250 GTO replicas. The plastic I use is shatter proof and will not crack. I made a set for Rodger Ralphs and he thought I should post about them here. He is sending pictures and I'll add them. I'm asking $80/pair. I also make the hood scoops for $60/pair. Feel free to call me at: 816-286-6982 and my email address is: mclapp1(at)att(dot)net. I've attached a picture of GT40 light covers I make to show the terrific luster and clarity of the plastic. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  14. Hi RB26, I generically use the term "plexi" but the plastic I use is between acrylic (Plexiglass) and Lexan. As you know acrylic is very brittle and lexan is very easily scratched. This plastic can't be cracked and is more scratch resistant than even hard-coated lexan. The best part is that it is 1/4 the price of lexan, which is how I can offer the pieces at very reasonable prices. Also you do not need special drill bits like for acrylic, any old bit will cut fine with no cracking. As I mentioned, I've been making parts for over eight years and have never been asked for a replacement piece. I started by making light covers for my GT40 replica and have attached a picture to show the terrific luster and clarity of the plastic. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  15. Hi Vintage TechZ, I'm mostly a plastic guy and feel confident about doing the covers, but not sure about the trim ring. If the they are not available, a door-edging material could be used for the chrome surround if a guy wanted to keep that look. Just an idea anyway. All my plexi pieces are very reasonable and satisfaction guaranteed. Mark Clapp
  16. Hi rnye and Gothalosism, I've studied dozens of pictures of 240/260/280 Z cars with the G nose. I think I have a form that will fit, possibly with a little trimming. Would one of you be willing to try a light cover piece to help me alter my patterns for a good fit? I could also include L-braces made from the same crystal clear plastic to mount the covers with. From a short distance, the braces would disappear and the covers would look like they are floating on the car. I've attached a couple of pictures of some of my covers fitted to a different type car to show what I mean. Please email or call me if you're interested. I'd make you a free set for helping me make these available to G-nose owners. Thanks, Mark Clapp
  17. Hi Z owners. My name is Mark Clapp. I'm an individual and I've been making plexiglass parts such as light covers and windows for over eight years now. The plastic I use use is shatter proof and will not crack. I made a pair for my friend Roger Ralphs and he urged me to post about them here. He is sending me pictures of the covers on his car and I will post them. I'm asking $80/pair. Feel free to call me anytime at: 816-286-6982 to talk about your car and the light covers.
