well guys I just picked up a 75 280Z today...
to my eye there is no rust at all (except the passenger floor board has a little surfacing rust, but I was planning on welding flat new floor boards in after I cut the old out)
Is there anything I should be looking for, ie; specific spots that are common rust accumulators on the Z's?
The frame rails looked good and also the spare wheel storage area was rust free.
On to the actual point of the thread.
I have another L28 motor and a P90 head as spares.
Both L28 are NA of course.. however I would like to boost one of them and am wanting around 450Hp to the wheels.
I have done searching on the forum for the last few days and have a read a alot. I would like a no BS point to point options set from the guys that have been doing this.
-what do I need for tuning and management
-I understand I need a different tranny/differential.. I would like a Z32 tranny with a R200 diferential...( I understand I need modification to the Bell housing)
- along with this what modification to the axles will need to be made to handle the power level I want?
-I would like to stroke the motor to at least a 3.0, is their a kit or what would be the logical way of doing this?
-what would be a the appropriate head for this type of job?
-what modification would be needed to the NA block to prepare it for a turbo?
-is there a turbo cam that someone would reccomend?
-Is there a Clutch that would be Ideal for this setup?
I have read alot and am no stranger to tuning cars this is just a new project which I see alot of potential in.
