  1. what coilpack are you using? And what camber plates are those!? Thank you, Brandon
  2. ya I would love that... but I do live in vegas and Have to have AC in my DD...
  3. well the SRT beats C6 vettes has an AC that blows cold and hasnt let me down for darn near 60000 miles I think lots of people would trade lots of things for it:burnout: But hey its the DD for right now and serves me well. but insurance does suck for it especially in vegas..
  4. trust me when your getting blow out under boost first try to gap down the plugs. Clifton is exactly right.
  5. Thanks for the input I think that is what I am going to do... Believe it or not my buddy has that TIG and is looking to get rid of it because he wants something different and I might pick it up down the road but I am welcome to it whenever I need. It kind of sucks because it looks like ill have to buy another air compressor as of a few minutes ago... so the MIG may go on a wait...
  6. ya I was maybe looking into a millermatic 180, but I told the guy 500 cash and said great that is the only reason I am asking.
  7. I found a welder in town what do you guys think for a beginner? I will be taking a class to get some pointers, http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/tls/387200569.html
  8. ya thats right sports cars dont need torque; thats why I have absolutely and pitifully torn apart every honda I have ran... and some with higher HP #'s, (in my SRT4). I hate to be arrogant but their is simple mathematics that apply to vehicle weight, torque figure, horsepower, and a few other things that can be manipulated into good results. Oh ignorance is bliss and and quite comical in this case.
  9. hahaha same boat I am in! there is quite a informative thread on the oiling issues that the RB's have on tracks and once again you must be aware of them or your motor wont last 30 minutes....(on a actual track) its almost a guarantee.. and like I just said the other day to another looking to track an RB, you are going to spend another 1500-2000 bucks just to make it reliable in sustained high rpm bouts. Good luck and will be checking into your progress!
  10. wow bob thank you for the crystal clear info. Now do you think that a high volume pump is absolutely necessary? or do you believe there is a combination of restrictors, pump, and return that would provide good oil flow to all areas? Like N1 pump, external return, the right restrictor size? It looks like machining the galleys will also be a must... Basically everything to get the oil back to supply the pump. BtW your car is amazing!
  11. the RB25 is supposedly lighter... however if you are considering the RB for a track car you must consider some of the other problems with RB's..ie; the oiling problems and such... I have been researching this since I want to do lapping days and am wanting the RB25... You will end up spending what you bought the motor for to make it reliable on a circuit just a heads up! but the RB is definately what I am planning on getting still...
  12. thanks jon I have been on the skyline forums quite a bit as of late trying to figure out... but it seems it doesn't matter if it has 6 quarts or 10:icon6: that it would eventually pool in the head... Im going to search in the skyline forums and post my findings in this thread if anyone is interested.
  13. hahaha ya he also gave me another L28E need to pick it up though..
  14. well I finally took a pic of the car before I go to work on it... 75 280Z $800 I think I got a deal.. no rust and running what do you guys think? my other car (blue SRT4) in the background.
  15. so lets say for a 500 Hp RB25 that can be taken to lapping events what would be the ideal mods to solve the bottom end oiling problems? High flow/high quality pump restricters and an oil rerout from the head to the sump/oilpan along with possibly larger oil capacity I have been searching I would like to see a thread about these modifications
  16. Well taking a look inside wouldnt be too hard. also drop the oil and check for shavings that is even more simple. alot of the time dodgey synchros can be tamed with different and possibly slicker synthetic oils. I do hope you give a go over of junkyard transmissions flushing them with cheap oil for a hundred miles and going to a synthetic. it may help guys if you already havent done it.
  17. it sounds like he is destroying them if he is powershifting... I already have destroyed 2 transmissions at drag strip power shifting with my SRT.
  18. I have searched can someone link me to something describing the different Z32 tranny's.. what is the difference between the TT and NA tranny's any different ratios to know about?
  19. I really want some 16X10's but like mentioned above there are really no tires worth a **** for that size...
  20. wow wha wee whaw power to ya! good luck!
  21. Okay I believe I have decided on the Megasquirt for my project... I would like to and want to go distributorless, is there a write up someone can point me to... I have searched... Is it to much trouble to be worth it? What other systems offer this type of setup as a package(obviously minus the Crank sensor, etc..) Thank you for any info. P.S. if you feel the need to flame please do it somewhere else... everyone is new at one point or another, and I am just trying to gather as much info I can.
  22. ya that car is awesome and is the best looking 240 I have seen in black... Now heres another do you guys have any info on this car? (its a video) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6465617191604514213&q=240z&total=593&start=10&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=5 now the looks of the black car along with the power of the other its ridiculous..
  23. ya thanks for bringing up the banner and link the install looks like the RB25 from there gallery...
