  1. dear god I love the welds! what welder are we using and more importantly how long have you been welding?
  2. exactly I worked on my car for 2 days straight after work until 3-4 in the morning drinking redbulls to get ready for an autocross. By the time I was at the event I was hallucinating and the course workers said that they could here me singing "magic carpet ride" as I was going through the start hairpin.
  3. I know I have done this before...maybe not to the extent that this fella does.. Anyways it hilarious. hopefully it isnt a repost. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/22/video-nemesiiiiis/
  4. Me and my buddy's jaw dropped when we came across your pics in the albums. Your car is all business and I think every aspect in my eyes is executed perfectly. You have alot of pride for the work in the video and it definitely shows in the car. Great job and I hope ya have a hell of a time wringing it out down the straights and through the corners. Cant wait to see the upcoming videos:flamedevi
  5. ^ have you guys ever driven a SRT? just wondering. I mean unimpressive? I mean its not everything the owners boast it to be but for what they can do if set up right and the price now? did you get beat by one or something?
  6. where can you get a 4.3 R200 do they exist?
  7. I would have to say(sorry to bust your bubble) most definitely not. Save up and get the real deal, money spent once in the right direction is much better than twice in a detour.
  8. we ran a A1000 on a 600hp SRT4 and it was a huge piece of S*** You cant daily drive it, you will overheat the pump and destroy it. If the it is a street car walbro or walbro(S) are in order. I also like the bosch pumps, but hey the walbros are cheaper
  9. Im sorry bro. I am glad I dont have to deal with that in vegas. Get pulled over for 105 in 65 barely get away without going to jail, and then take my ticket to my buddies dad http://www.ticketbusterslv.com/?gclid=CNvSwPflsY4CFSY_YAodziVwIA 100 bucks its gone. Get a lawyer and get it knocked down.
  10. I really don't see the difference.. all it is the actual textile electro statically bonded to the surface. I really think if the WRC guys will use it on there cars it is going to be tuff, but I suppose that it all comes down to the application of the material and how well it is done.
  11. itll give ya a ride like one trust me...
  12. No Problem, it is cheap and if done professionally it looks really good. Kind of gives it a race car touch, I plan on doing it, I wasnt going to let the cat out of the bag but figured what the hell. Be sure to post pics when done! also if you search WRC pics there are many pics on it. matter a' fact here is a teaser;
  13. My cheap turbo mod. It spools so much faster http://www.mx6.com/forums/2g-mx6-fo...-turbo-mod.html this IMO is absolutely hilarious. Enjoy.
  14. that fuzzy stuff is called flocking, it is used on all rally cars to reduce glare...
  15. I wish I could help ya here but please please post pics ASAP... Are you running these with flares?
  16. good lord guys are we going to have another schooling by John? Please listen to what he has to say! Come on guys please... the difference of weight between the L28 and SR20DET is in your installs..literally.. it has been proven. Granted the motor is mounted farther back(depending on mounts) and it does give the wheel a lighter feel at lower speeds. I don't think for the people with full interiors really need to worry about the weight of the motors. To the original post, I am really in the same boat you are with the SR20, my plans are as follows. Complete Bushing set EMI camber adjustment Tokico Illumina's GC coilovers (225 front/250 rear) and suspension techniques sways. Please do what you think will work for you. Suspension is only as good as it is setup. And whenever John has something to say you can bet it has the most weight that can be had behind it.
  17. I am going to hire him to cut my grass:icon14:
  18. I know this thread is old but a guy I know just bought this car and windowed the block the first week in vegas... working on a rebuild and possibly looking at 1000hp... virtual works will have there hand in this...
  19. hahaha I think Austin asks himself before every motor he puts in the car what motor will put him on the front page of magazine. Not that that is his intention but his work is fast clean and effective to do so. Good work Austin and i cant wait to see it running. I think its only a matter of time before you start fabing up twin turbos...
  20. Not to be crude but to make the RB25 trackable you will spend another $2000 to remedy the oil problems, if you dont you will continue spending money on rebuilds. now obviously if you could fabricate with proven knowledge in regards to oilpan/pickups/returns/machining you wont have to spend anything except for materials. however that will leave you with a $1200 oil pump bill....get where I am going? The rb for me right now is not realistic. Now no doubt the motor kicks a$$ but just not for me due to the price of reliability. And the SR20 will provide me with the power I want (450-500hp) minus the torque.. so minus a engine and interior what do you think we would be looking at with the 280?
  21. oh did I forget to mention... I can get passes, legitimately. but I do believe you can get passes if GP
  22. haha I have been watching these for the last month and realized the guy posting em' actually drives a 600hp RHD true JDM supra here in town and actually attends our turbo car club meets!
  23. Its coming soon guys and if you have never been you are missing out fellow motorheads. oct30-Nov2, 2007 I live in Vegas and have been there for 3 of them and they get better every year. I strongly recommend if you haven't had a vacation or need another; pick up some passes and get here! http://www.semashow.com/ If I didnt live in a condo I would offer out some free floor for bed but not sure the GF would like it, but I would definitely help in transportation and suggestions of entertainment. I would also help with hotel arrangements and such if needed.
  24. well I have a 75 280Z with no rust and many dings nothing major. A local guy is now offering me a no rust 240Z. I havent seen the body yet but he says its in great condition. Not a super low VIN so nothing like that. I am wondering what car in your experienced opinions would you build off of. I was originally going with a RB25 that I actually put a deposit on, however after reading of the horror stories of the oiling issues and also visiting Vildini on my vacation I have began to lean towards the SR20. I am confident as well as my engine builder and tuner that there would be no problems in getting 450-500 out of the motor. It is going to be built as a fun car that will be involved in everything; a little street, drag, autocross, and lapping days. So... I know the 240 is lighter but has a chassis that needs some strengthening where the 280 is heavier and doesn't need the reinforcement. (how much weight stripped are we talking between chassis) Thank you for all opinions.
