  1. yeah yeah i got the anniversary wrong way to go heres a cookie...thats the least important thing about my post you should be proud of yourself...lol jk im not that big of a jerk thanks for droppin some knowledge guys i appreciate it
  2. your assumptions are correct and i was talking about what the stock engine could handle hp wise. Like my L28et can handle anything up to almost 400hp with the right tune (depending on parts of course) before i have to go with forged pistons and whatnot. Im just seeing on what to expect with this car once he gets it.
  3. my buddy is looking to pick up a fully running everything works 52nd anniversary Z31 with a VG30DET. I havent been on this side of the forums for very long now and i was wondering without having to sift through 3 hours of nonsens to find a simple answer. How much can this engine put out without having to do anything internally and also if you can what are its weaknesses
  4. well i think we can use those quick steering knuckles end links like this
  5. those mixed with the front lower control arms would make for some mean steering angle
  6. I need a L28et electronic Dizzy preferably 82-83 if someone could help me id be greatfull
  7. i got a new question does anyone know how well old stock valve springs last over time and against elongated high revs? and where can i get some new ones besides Kameari (kinda expensive) lol
  8. about to install it on your Z? or 240sx? if Z im really interested in how it turns out
  9. i have a build thread called 280z drift or somthing along those lines you should check it out
  10. yeah i have a lot to learn so i am putting this all together gingerly and hoping for the best. I am also traveling to St.Louis to go to a reputable tuner so i will have professional help when it comes to the tuning. and as for my remark sorry about that i just get frustrated when everyone wants to drop knowledge and not answer any of my questions or just be a jerk and after the 10th post of that happening it gets tiring so sorry about that.
  11. thanks for your knowledge it is appreciated
  12. o didnt see that post above mine thanks
  13. Ok in that picture it is used to launch a car it is not being used for more than lets say idk if its locked all the way down the track 10 seconds . also wich R200 is that car using?? The diff im gonna use will be able to not only withstand 10 seconds but literal minutes of being fully locked. It also has to be consistent i cannot have it unlocking and locking randomly on me. Now assuming he is using the 300xz diff ive heard from 240sx owners that Vlsd's arent good for drifting they are inconsistent. i want to use my longnose R200 So i go back to my question will a 240sx lsd fit in the carrier i have?
  14. thanks but im now wondering if a 240sx aftermarket LSD if it will fit in the R200 longnose 2 pinion open diff carrier out of a 77 manuall 280z ( one like this http://www.frsport.com/KAAZ-SAN2655-2-WAY-LSD-LIMITED-SLIP-DIFFERENTIAL-S13-240SX-91-94_p_8780.html because my bro has one in his 240sx and i love it plus im not sure if the Z31 clsd can hold up to drifting or if it can be consistent enought
  15. could you pretty please send a link me what page it answers them on. and i got here in 2007 so i don't know about what happened in the 90's sorry?
  16. that tells me the differences between the R200 and R230 not the shortnose vs the longnose i never said OEM lsd i said LSD that you put in a shortnose R200 from a 240sx well i found this: 240sx short nose R-200 open- 29 spline 280z & zx long nose r-200 open- 29 spline so i assume that it will fit? but is the only difference the carrier?
  17. lol i think your following me hahah and thanks
  18. ok.... i have read that thread and it does not state whether they are a direct swap sure it says that they are the same diff except the open diff and clutch lsd but not if they bolt to the car the same or not. As for the 240sx lsd internals it said that the spline count might be different MIGHT as in it was never answered so i was asking again in hopes that someone wouldnt just give the cure all answer of search but nvm...
  19. i already have and i have not found what i am looking for could somone please point me in the right direction?
  20. hello everyone, I couldnt find anything on the searches does anyone know of any conversion from maf to map for the L28et??
  21. I have a build and i will be drifting my car and i am confuzed. my Z is a 77 manuall but it has a 4sp tranny but i assume the tranny was just switched out at some point, assuming it wasnt an automatic at one time i should have an 2 pinon open Longnose R200. But what the real questions are: Is their cost effictive way in your opinion to convert it to LSD? Is a 300zx turbo clsd a direct swap? Is the difference between 240sx shortnose lsd's and my longnose lsd just the housing and if so could i put a 240sx LSD in it?(example -> http://www.frsport.com/KAAZ-SAN2655-2-WAY-LSD-LIMITED-SLIP-DIFFERENTIAL-S13-240SX-91-94_p_8780.html thanks for clearing this up for me, i really appreciate it
  22. how old are we? cmon guys id understand it if it was if i could turbo my n/a L28 but this is a ligament question. Ive looked around on the posts and most of them get off topic, dont have the right thread title or don't finish because of people thread jacking or people generaly screwing around so i appreacite and commend you on not contributing to this forum . pyro-(thanks for not being an arrogant fool like alot of the people seem to be on this forum)
  23. those answers are to none of the questions i asked: these are the questions i asked nothing more lol thankyou but your going off on stuff i didn't ask and i don't wanna get off topic lets reiterate. i wanna know if i still have to custom order oem dimension forged tubo pistons OR if i can use flattop forged pistons and use a thicker head gasket and have the same reliability tunes and turbine sizes are just speculation becuase anything can happen i want to know mechanically are they the same in reliablility if you must know the setup i wanna run here it is: ARP head and rod bolts front mount intercooler Blitz DD bov FORGED PISTONS (of some kind) 550cc inj Turbonetics TO4B super V stage 5 .63 on exhuast side MS 3.0 60mm TB kamerari 9,000 RPM valve springs (for drifting holding out revs) walbro 255 LPH fuel pump methanol inj
  24. off the top of my head im not sure i think a P90a head and whatever block that comes with it I think its F54? and also im gonna be drifting with this car so the engine needs to be very reliable lol it might not be very necessary but i want a tough engine thats gonna take the abuse without having lots problems cuase its gonna be going with a drift schedule.
