  1. NICE!!!!, Pallnet did the same thing you did and used a KA tranny. I used the N/A 5speed tranny and made some cuts to the stock ka tranny crossmember so it would work. The shifter sits perfectly in the car, and center with the stock shifter hole. Although I've been having issue after issue with my L28. First my head cracked. Then for some reason I cant figure out. My new head wasnt getting any oil ( the lifters got oil ) but the cam didnt so it grinded its self all up and metal shavings where everywhere . at the same time I thing I blew a oil seal in my turbo.
  2. Well today I started my car and noticed alot of thick white smoke comming from the down pipe. When I moved the car I noticed ALOT of oil on the ground. I had a buddy watch while I started the car and all of the oil is comming from the down pipe along with alot of white smoke. Its about a pint of oil that comes out each time the car starts. Im not sure if it continues to flow out becuase Im scared to let it continue to run like that. Its an L28ET. I dont think its my rings, could it be the turbo?? Any Ideas?? Thanks
  3. They are quality parts. But instead of rebuilding the L24 I would just do an L28 swap.
  4. 1 fast z, you should get togethor with someone who does casting and start producing these heads. Then we could all have a twin cam crossflow head.
  5. Well I got my transmission from a junk yard. But where the speedo cable goes, it looks like the cog is still plugged into the tranny but the base is gone. How do I get the cog out of tranny? Its like a threaded piece sticking out of the tranny. I took out the 10mm bolt but i cant pull it out. Any Ideas??
  6. Since your going to be using the E88 head i would go with the l28 dished pistons.
  7. If your going to boost you don't want to use the OEM KA24 pistons, The ring lands are small and weak and wont handle the boost very well. There are two types of KA's the KA24E and KA24DE, Both use the same pistons and are not good with boost. Exp. when you will have high compression.
  8. also make sure your head temp sensor is connected. it should be above the 5th spark plug. Make sure the wires arn't corroded and it has a good connection.
  9. Yea the oil gauges usually go out in the Z's, It sounds like you might have a stuck lifter. I would take out all the lifters and make sure they are spoungy ( try to compress them with your fingers, they should have a little movement to them ) if you cant compress it with your fingers put them in between a table vice and squeeze the oil out. Then check it again.
  10. Thanks guys, In that video I still had my timing way off. I got it all dailed in yesturday. She starts up very quickly and now idles , Just a few more things to work out then I will be driving it down the street! I've been working on this swap since June of '07. Warren, I know pallnet beat me to it. Where both still working on them. Actually if it wasnt for pallnet I doubt it would be in the car right now.
  11. Well here is my 240sx with a L28ET. I got it running last night. The rattle is from the valve cover. I forgot to bolt it down. thoughts?? Ideas??
  12. Well my compression problem turned out to be a cracked head and a bad valve seat. I got a new head and just had a valve job done. Now im sitting at 150psi ~ 170psi. Considering im running flat top N/A pistons is this good compression??
  13. I got it started guys, I had my timing way off! lol, anyways i got that fixed and it starts but I have no compression in my #2 cyl . All other cyl's have 120 ~ 140psi, but #2 is 0psi. Any Ideas?
  14. For the past few months I've been swaping the L28ET into my 240sx. Tonight I finally got to attempt to start it. The problem Im having is that its cranking over but its not starting. Here is what I know. The starter is good The fuel pump is good Im getting spark I've got gas The harness is good. Im pretty sure I did the timing right. I dont have the alternator hooked up but i dont think that would be the issue. Any Idea's?
  15. I looked but i didnt find anything. They got alot of stuff about fuel injection but nothing talking about taking thoes hoses off.
