  1. I've searched a bit, on this site and a few others. I've come up with several places I can purchase from, but no information as far as personal experiences and such. Is there any place in particular that I should stay away from? Pros and cons from those who've purchased kits and those that have fabbed there own? I've seen the stuff places like MSA has to offer, as well as some homemade setups but everything I see more or less looks the same. Am I missing something or is one kit just as good as another?
  2. Put me on the list for sure. Do you have a big list so far? It'd be cool to stick it in the main post or something. You could check them off as you go along. Not trying to tell you what to do. I just thought it'd be cool. I'll pay in advance if need be. Too bad he's so busy, I bet there's a ton of guys on here that would pay him to do custom CF work.
  3. Nooooooo!!! I was kinda afraid of that. My z doesn't even run but I wanted to secure one of these before he stopped making them. Do you expect him to make them again? I mean, I understand that he's told you he's busy at the moment but will continue them at some point. I'm asking if you think he's serious about it. Don't take that the wrong way, I'm just wondering. I'd love to have a set. Thanks again for keeping everyone updated.
  4. Been following this thread for a while in hopes of them becoming available in the near future. Hate to nag but is there a light at the end of the tunnel? Put me on the list I guess. I have Paypal ready and waiting.
  5. Not bad. That is assuming he was being truthful and not just gigging you on the price. No matter how you look at it, I've seen worse cars for a even more money sell around here and you got a load of extra parts to boot. Good luck with your new project, seems like you've already got a good start.
  6. Looks good. Very inspiring.
  7. What's JC? On another note, you're a helluva guy to give up a nice car like that.
  8. Thanks guys. The Rivets on the framerails were his idea of "reinforcement". Those rivets supplement tack welds holding on long strips of steel that run the length of the framerail. The paint is slick in most parts, but here and there is could use some sanding for sure. I'm not 100% on the color, but I'm more concerned with the car being a straight platform to start with. Paint can always bee changed later. I'd hate to let this one slip by me only to by another project car and spend years and $$$ just to get it to the point that this one is at.
  9. I've been searching for a local project car that my granddad and I can use for a project and found this. After meeting the guy and talking to him, we worked out that I could get it for $3k out of pocket. The skinny, car is mostly taken apart. The engine is BRAND NEW, zero miles with build receipts and such. Some goes for the manual tranny. The drivetrain is halfway back in the car. I think the car itself has about 130k on it. New floorpans New framerails 100% Undercoated New Gas Tank Pro shaved handles shaved key holes molded headlight bezels shaved roof rails "new" paint maybe a year "old" but hasn't been driven. Sitting in storage since full energy suspension kit, installed aftermarket suspension....tokico and something else bigger brakes in the front (Some sort of 4x4 swap) New Corbeau reclining race seats with model specific mounting brackets 5 point harnesses roll cage Newly installed carpet, headliner, rear interior LOTS of Dynomat Expanding foam sprayed into some parts of the car. (A bit confused on this) new weatherstripping I'm sure there's stuff I'm forgetting and a lot of stuff that I don't understand but that should cover it for now. He said he never bought new door panels and a few other odds and ends...but the car is nearly 100% complete and most of the stuff is still very new or even still packaged. I'm already pretty sure of what I should do, but I thought I'd post to make sure that I didn't miss something obvious. PICS:
