  1. Hey guys. I know this is a long shot. But I need a dash for my 1975 280z. I dont need any guages or center console vent area. Just the main dash. I don't care if its cracked. Please let me know if anyone has something kicking around. The dash is the main thing that is stopping me from getting my car on the road, so if somebody could hook me up that would be amazing! thanks!
  2. Thanks a lot! would a unit like this one be what i would need? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-PIN-PRONG-TERMINAL-LED-FLASHER-ELECTRONIC-RELAY-SWITCH-TURN-SIGNAL-LIGHT-12V-/330981964018?fits=Model%3A240Z&hash=item4d100ff8f2&vxp=mtr
  3. Hi everyone. I have a 1975 that I have been working on for quite a while, I bought the car mostly complete (partially torn apart but It came with most of the pieces). Anyways, something it didn't come with was the front signals. So I bought the oval led lights often seen on semi's / trailers to use as front signals. The wiring for the original signals was all there so i wired the LED lights to the original wiring. I have the Hazard light working no problem, but when I turn the signals on the signal lights will turn on but will not flash, and the clicking sound in the cabin never makes a sound (signal lights front and rear stay on solid until the signal lever is turned off). I was wondering if there may be an issue with the amount of draw of the led's vs what the stock signal did. So i unhooked the LED signals and held a working front signal bulb to the wiring and the lights would randomly signal and the clicking sound would happen in the cabin. So I'm wondering if anyone else has converted to LED's and had a similar issue? Do I need to wire in a resistor or something like that? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. I read up on what that switch does. and I'm assuming I will need one. Anything else I need to do. Will running power direct from the battery cause any problems?
  5. Is that something I would need? or is it something I would need to look out for or remove? Pardon my ignorance.
  6. Hey guys. my 280z project is almost reaching completion. And I want to run direct power from the battery to my fuel pump. With a switch on the interior of the car to turn the pump power on and off. Just wondering if anyone has done this? and are there any issues i may run into in doing that or certain things I should look out for? I hope I am clear in what I'm wanting to do, I try to keep my questions short and sweet. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  7. Hey guys. after a lot of searching i can't find the answer i'm looking for. A friend of mine has a set of poly bushing for a 240z that is just missing the steering coupler that he will sell me for cheap. And I want to buy them but which (if any) bushing would be incompatible with my 1975 280z? Any help appreciated, Thanks
  8. hey guys. im needing to know what sizes of vacuum hose's i need for my 75 280z. i want to replace all of them. as they are all pretty badly dry rotted. i want to replace them with silicone lines. but no idea what sizes i need. or how to even measure them. any help appreciated. thanks. and a side question. are the gauges in the dash illuminated? and if so from where? thanks
  9. thanks allot for all your info. as for suspension, i will probably know better how much im wanting to lower it once i have it home and all pieced together. i would prefer ones that are adjustable. with both ride height and performance(softer to track) adjustments. i dont really have a preference to doing bolt in vs having to do some modifications, bang for buck will probably win. and the engine does turn by hand. as for AFM's i found quite a few that were saying compatible 76-79. would one suitable for a 76 not work for my 75? although i did find this one that said it worked for 75 280 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Remanufactured-Air-Flow-Meter-22680-N4210-Datsun-Nissan-280Z-1975-8-76-/370638164399?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item564bc191af&vxp=mtr#ht_1684wt_906 i do not plan on doing an engine swap. i wish. but i was lucky enough my wife let me buy the car to begin with. lol
  10. hey guys. this is my first post here(just joined). just bought my first datsun this weekend and im needing some help starting out. first of all i am not unfamiliar with cars, our family business was restoring/ modding old cars. but never an import. we mainly worked on old chevys etc. anyways i just bought a 1975 datsun 280z. got it for a good price, its been sitting for 11 years and has 83000 original miles. it actually in surprisingly good shape for sitting for so long. the previous owner started it this summer by bypassing the mass airflow sensor. it definately needs a new mass airflow sensor. my plan for this car are to turn it into my daily driver. and hopefully autocrossing next season aswell and slowing making it show worthy. but for now all im trying to do is make it road worthy/safetied. obviously i will be draining all the fluids etc before even attempting to run it and doing all the body work. i will also be redoing all the rubber hosing running to the fuel injectors. so the main help im needing right now is... - are there any specific fluids you guys would suggest? oil type etc. - are there any certain things i should definately check on the engine before turning it over? - where would you suggest i get the mass airflow sensor for it? i've seen some aroung $280 and are there any brands that would be better than another? - what are my options for bumpers? i have all the parts for the car but i absolutely hate the big stock bumpers and would prefer something sleeker - any other suggestions? and help im needing for my future plans are? - what size of rims(offest diameter and width) work good for a 280 that will have flared fenders and lowered a bit? - is turboing it really extensive? any know good turbo kits? - best option for a full big disc brake conversion? - good suspension upgrades? thanks in advance! heres a picture of it (trailering it home this weekend)
