  1. what would be considered too big of a variation??
  2. What should the cylinder compression be on a 81 l28et?
  3. Ok. well as long as they aren't needed I won't use them. thanks for the help guys!!
  4. So no hold downs, just the two brackets on the fuel rail that bolt to the intake manifold? I thought thats how it goes but wasnt sure. It is all snug like that but wasnt sure if just "snug" was good enough...
  5. I have a 81 l28et with a p90 head and a pallnet fuel rail. I have a set of 440cc supra injectors that I am going to use and was wondering if Ill still have to use the injector hold downs or not. If so, what rubber grommet do most people use or what do you use in place of it to make the hold downs fit correctly...
  6. Hey thanks man I may have to take that route. I hate to have to shell out 100 bucks for that though Lol
  7. I have an 81 l28et engine and an 83 l28et dizzy, looking for a 82 or 83 oil pump shaft/drive to complete swap
  8. what wheel spacers are most people running? Im wanting some 2 inch spacers for my 260. Some spacers that ive checked in to alot of ppl say the center bore might have to be machined to be larger. Im looking for some that are bolt on.
  9. Yea, I am finally set on thate injectorand turbo set up. The main thing I an looking into now and kinda stuck on is what ignition set up to use. I would like to go distributorless (previous setup on this motor was distributorless so currently doesn't have a distributor) and an needing help on what options I have. I have looked into the Ford coil system but haven't found too much info on it yet. If anyone has any info or a link it would be greatly appreciated. Also Dexter72, how was your experience setting up the megasquirt...
  10. More than likely going with a 48 trim. I don't have any intentions of hitting the 300 mark anytime soon. Just wanting a good set up to build around over the years. As I stated tho, I'm still new to the l series. Definitely going to be needing all the helpful info and research I can get
  11. Yea, that's the line I'm talking about. And I may be interested in the turbo. Pm me some pix and info
  12. I have an 81 l28et and I am needing a few random parts. Turbo oil return hose and oil feed line Fuel pump block off plate Oil cooler lines Upper and lower thermostat housing (needing both on each side of the motor) Slave cylinder 440cc injectors and fuel rail T3/T04 Hybrid turbo or larger Aftermarket fuel pump and FPR Throttle linkage on the firewall (and the rod that goes from firewall to the intake throttle linkage)
  13. ok, thanks NewZed, Does anyone know if I can run the stock fuel pump and injectors with a t3/t4. Like I said, im not looking for anything crazy until a few years down the road. I would like to run around 10psi if that would work on the stock fuel system...
  14. Yea, I'm still in the middle of reading the megamanual. I know I'll have to have some advice here and there on the megasquirt but for the most part it seems fairly straight forward. I don't have any crazy power goals for the car, would like to eventually be around 350 or so. I have a deal on some 440cc supra injectors and they come with the resistors for under 150. Definitely going to check into seeing if I even need the resistors tho. Also, Palauoriganal, what walbro pump do you have?
  15. I am in the process of swapping an 81 l28et motor and 5 speed trans into my 74 260. I do not have a wiring harness but I plan on going megasquirt anyways. Also plan on going with a t3/t4 turbo and intercooler kit. I was needing some advice on what injectors to go with, I have been thinking about going with the 86-92 supra 440cc injectors and a pallnet fuel rail. Would this be a good combo for this turbo setup? Also If I go with this combo will I need an aftermarket fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator?? Hopefully I can get some good advice through out this swap, I am still fairly unfamiliar with the L series and have been searching and reading up on L swap info like crazy
  16. I am looking to buy a wiring harness and ecu from a 280zx turbo car. Plan on doing a l28et swap into my 260. Thanks in advance!!!
  17. That looks like the original paint on my car
  18. The grommet is from the trunk of a mustang foxbody. My original grommet looked terrible. And yes, all that I have left now is the small stuff (brake booster, steering rack, cross member, ect). Prolly just spray all that black
  19. Yea definately a big differance. And yea, its way more work than it actually looks. Especially if you try to do it right. But was well worth all the time and effort!!! Thanks for the compliment too man, I'm so glad I finally got it done
  20. Last 2 pics is what it looked like befor. Just a cheap rattle can black that was chipping off.
  21. Finally 1jz worthy. After hours of sand blasting and body work I finally have a color slapped on. The main area of rust was hiding under the battery tray. Since I plan on relocating the battery to the trunk I did away with the battery tray and wanted that area to look really good. The color is called torch red. When the sun hits it it has an orange tint to it. The rest of the car will be the same color but don't plan on starting til after my engine swap. Let me know what you guys think
  22. I would really like to put a late 90's camaro ss scoop on the center bulge. I think that would look really aggressive
  23. Thanks. I'm hoping it will sell pretty good. I've done a ton of searching and havent seen anyone making them as one piece. Not sure why, it should look really good and flush, especially as carbon fiber
