  1. Guys, After playing with it today, I noticed if I fix my timing at 0 degrees and rev the motor my timing does not stay on 0 with my timing light. Does this mean my distributor has play?
  2. Winston I really appreciate your willingness to help... During last weekend I was able to do a little tuning while someone else drove, I was able to get the car to stop missing with very very conservative timing.. I cant advance the time any past 23 degrees and once I hit boost I will start dramatically pulling back even more... By the car acting this way, does this pretty much confirm that its a noise issue?
  3. I'm not seeing where I make these changes.... What is the name of the table? Thx
  4. Please do.. I would really appreciate it.. Also, could you explain in a little more detail on what your talking about? where did you add for error? fuel? Thanks again.
  5. just to post a little more info, if I lay into the throttle slowly as it get higher in the rpm range... say 2k it start backfiring though the intake. could this me a timing issue? Again, I really appreciate any help
  6. Guys, I am having some problems where when I get to a certain rpm in natural (or driving) the car starts to miss badly. Even in natural revving I get hit 10psi of boost... almost like a two step..... the miss usually start around 3700 rpm... I'm running EMS Pro which is based off MS1. Im running stock 83 dizzy with an MSD box. Any ideas?... Kinda thinking its a noise problem.. but just wanted to ask. thx
  7. Guys, I really appreciate the help.. The car is running a lot better, however its missing really bad around 3k rpm, popping through the intake and such. Its missing so bad that I can build 6psi in neutral. I going to assume that I have a noise problem, where can I go log my trigger to monitor it? I am running MS1.. Thx
  8. Really... Then I believe I am doing it all wrong then.. I have been moving my distributor trying to get to 10.. So your saying that I should manipulate crank angle in order to get everything lined up to say 10 degrees?
  9. I just tried the above and I could not get enough turn out of my dist. to get it to the fixed 10 degrees advanced... When doing this, should I leave my trigger angle at 60 or should I put it on zero? Well it looks like I was able to get it but I had to set my Trigger Angle to 65 degrees... and my distributor is nearly maxed out in one direction.. Does that sound correct?
  10. I got ya... Right now it is set at -10 which is using the table, so if I set it to 10 it will be fixed and I just turn my dizzy until I see 10 advanced on my timing light? It that correct?
  11. I'm going to say that its MS1 Extra format 029Y3****, that is what it shows up as when I use the Detect under Project Properties Tab... Although my file name at the top shows 029Y4***** I appreciate you help Matt..
  12. I have a Basic Settings tab but I do not see a Tach Input/Ignition Settings.... I am running TunerStudio version 2.0.8 Please help... Thx
  13. Thanks, I will try it this afternoon.
  14. I really appreciate your responses. Where do I change the setting in MS. Also, is my first post correct on how to set everything?
  15. Guys, Where do I go to download Trigger Wizard to install it as an add on? I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find it.. the only add on that was automically installed was the TPS Callibration Wizard.... Just to make sure I am thinking correctly on this... I set my fixed timing to 10 degrees then open the Trigger Wizard and set it to whatever my timing light is reading... Correct?
  16. Okay, so your saying that I need to leave my gun on zero and just rotate my distributor until the mark lines up on zero as well. This is assuming that I leave my trigger angle at 60. Thanks again for your help, the car idles smooth and everything but I can tell that the timing isn't correct..
  17. Just to make sure I understand this correctly... I set my trigger angle degree at 50 or 60 and check while cranking the car. On my timing light do I set it to 50 or 60 and line it up on the zero mark? Or should I set my timing light to 0 and line it up to 0. Thanks again for the help
  18. Guys, I set my spark advance table to "0" and then in the spark settings, I have Trigger angle addition set to "0" and Trigger angle (Deg) set at 50. Now on my timing light I am reading 41... I guess that is because of the 10 degree latency, I this correct? Thanks for everyones help.
  19. Old thread but I seem to be having the same issue, can anyone give me some direction on what I need to adjust to move my distributor 60 degress. Just to give an idea on the timing currently is... the car was running the the stock computor before I installed the the Megasquirt. It's an 83" turbo...
  20. Matt, I am using an 83' dizzy to fire this thing with an MSD 6A...... Can you tell me where these dip switches need to be?? Also, this car is nearly stock with a turbo upgrade... Can you or someone help me out with a basic get running tune. Thx
  21. I really appreciate your input.... Any ideas on resistor wattage? Nevermind it looks like a 1/4 watt Thanks again!
  22. Guys.. Please correct me if I am wrong on this... My ING-A wire will go to the white wire on the MSD then the rest of the MSD will wire accordingly Coming off the 83 dizzy Green/Black off the distributor will go to Tachin ---- with a 1k ohm resistor going to a continous hot (if so what watt resistor) Black/White will go to a continous hot Black stright to Ground Matt or anybody with knowledge on this chime in a let me know.... I really appreciate everyones help
  23. Guys quick question... I have already built the new injector harness but after doing I am beginning to wonder if I did it correctly. I wired them via two banks and did it by the cylinder and not by firing order, cylinder 1,2,3 then 4,5,6 or wired together. FYI, I am using the 83' dizzy going back to the msd 6a... Thx
