  1. If your testing power to the fuel pump and have 12.4v when measuring across the pump then your pump is bad if it isn't pumping. Probably due to an internal wiring fault. But like i said this only applies when when your testing directly across the pump. Hope this helps, James
  2. Thank you so very much Matt! I've been searching for this answer for a while
  3. Ok, so i know i've been harking around for some help with some coil spec's for a z32 coil with the ignitor. the information isn't being easy to find nor do i have the o-scope or really the budget to aquire one. So i'm beginning to think about the LSx series coils. Again the question pop's up can i still use launch control. But i'm gonna kinda give you some in site to what i'm working with and i'll let yall kinda give me the best choice to go off of. Megasquirt v3.57 L28 with stock bottom end 1mm MLS head gasket Custom intake with 2 sets of mustang svo #38 fuel injectors (in the works) Precision t3/t4 turbo 350 turbo transmission with transbrake (reason for launch control) This is some of the things that are done to this vehicle and as you can see this z isn't going to see the street much but the strip it will see on a constant basis. Thanks in advance for any inputs on this, James
  4. Ok so i'm running a l28 turbo and wanting to use z32 coilpacks and ignitor with my megasquirt II v3.57. Reason i'm waiting to use those coilpacks and that ignitor is because i have about 20 or so coilpacks laying around and about 3 ignitors if my memory serves me correctly. But what i'm wanting to know if anybody has tried this setup before. I believe the Rb series motors use around the same coilpacks (just with the coil mounted a little differently) and the same ignitor (maybe a few wiring differences. I have wired up my megasquirt according to the manual and ran a makeshift bench test using the stimulator as an rpm input. And i got fire, but my ignitor got hot really really quick. What i'm really trying to get to is.... - If you got your setup to work using those components what was your ignition settings. - And can you still use Launch control? (drag car)
  5. I know this isn't a question about the items for sale but with the megasquirt did you use the rb25 coils? if you did what settings did you use and did you have to do any external mods? any help would be appreciated since I'm trying to use z32 300zx coils and the stock ignitor, and if my memory serves me correctly their the same ignitor just with a different wiring configuration, and the coils are the same except how they bolt up. Anyway many thanks in advance
  6. ok hoov thought about what you said last night and i want to rephrase my question... i have megasquirt II v3.57 firmware 2.1.1, i'm wanting to finish the install on a L28et but i'm wanting to use z32 coilpacks with the ignitor as sense i have alot of spare parts for them. is there any way that i can set this up without it disabling spark retard in launch control (i know ford EDIS will cause you to not be able to retard the timing) this is for my drag car. sorry if i misunderstood what you was getting at last night hoov i just want an answer to this.
  7. notice my first post said i was using a megasquirt II v3.57? thanks though
  8. ugg still searching and cant find anything where it doesn't say "wire up edis".... i want to use launch control!
  9. I'm currently working on getting my 83 280zxt running on megasquirt II v 3.57 with firmware 2.1.1. But i don't want to use the stock dizzy because this is my drag car, and i have a buttload of z32 coils and an ignitor with associated wiring harnesses. Is there anyway i could use these to bring fire to my z? If so what would be the most recommended way to approach this would i need a trigger wheel or something else? Thanks James
  10. ok i've got an update now... i have signal comming from my CAS to my computer.... i have signal goin from my computer to the ignitor through a y/w wire and i have a constant power on my ignitor through a b/w wire.... i get spark when i turn my key from the on position back to the acc position which is kinda weird but i don't have any fire when i turn my key to the start position the signal is still goin and i'm not losing my constant power and yes the signal is only sending when i'm turning the car over but i still don't understand why i ain't gettin fire when i'm turning the car over help me please!!!
  11. well i have all that now but still no fire and i never had a donor car to pull out of i've had my head stuck in the back of a haynes book looking at wiring schematics for the past 2 weeks
