Just spent the money I was going to spend on the engine on some new saleen rims and tires. Too good of a deal to pass up. I'm going to take some pics and get all this sbc parts out of here and start fresh. If the guy still has this engine after I sell off some of the stuff I have laying around I might get it. On the flip side My dad works with this guy who has a wrecked 88' mustang he's doesnt want. I know the trans is shot cause the car starts but cant shift into gear. A teenage son winter in ohio story there. He bought it back from the ins company for next to nothing sold the cobra r rims and made 150 bucks. He said I can have the engine for $150. thing only has 80k on it. Thats chewing me hard right now. Thats why I'm torn.

I dont know what lit the fire under my me, but I'm starting to acually do things for my car. What started out to me putting a running, very nicely painted 76 280z in my parents garage in 1996 to the monster mess of a blown up engine tore into parts, suspenstion tore apart. A big hole in the strut tower covered by a hack weld job (dont ask me?), no interior, just gone of a mess only a few years later is got me going. My baby whom I call sunshine, ive had since I was 19. I moved to fl with 2 grand and didnt look back. Bought this car from the original owners son after he died. It was brown and only had 20 something on the clock. I put 30k on it painted it yellow and put it away when I got a zxtt. Which brings me here. I've been watching this forum for ever and just became a member a while back. I never worked on my car I just watched yours through pictures here. I was always dissapointed how mine got trashed but I never let her go. Now I'm doing something. Ive always wanted a v8 and have 3 sbc in buckets laying around but I think I want a ford in it. A 5.0 roller. So I decided to start selling off my sbc stuff and start getting what I need for my car. Here is The first of many to come postings on what I got and whats going to happen for my car. I live by detroit which right now has alot of out of work uaw workers. Looks like I'm going to be either hanging some qtrs or putting on some flares. Anyone else got these rims? I was going to get some cheap fugly rollers while I was building. But these came up so here are her new treads!

Cant I just take all the injection system off the lt1 and throw an intake and carb on and run it like a gen1 sbc? google time

A ford 5.0. sorry about that. I have 1 good block, 1 good crank, 1 good set of heads, a lot of rods and pistons all stock and misc stuff. 3 complete engines in a bunch of 5 gallon buckets in short. I was going to buy an ebay rebuild kit a summit cam and call it good. The cars been sitting since 98ish when 3 of the pistons in the l6 got destroyed. wasnt there dont know what happened. but I really want to get it back on the road. I'm doing a 5 lug hub swap so I can have cooler rims. My body is good so paint will be a breeze. Goal is get it on the road running good and looking good for as cheap as possible. Kids put a damper on the big buck parts so thats why these options look good.

Or these. I have 300zx hubs for the front and havn't got to the back yet. I'm almost ready to start putting the front together and don't have wheels. I'm leaning towards these other mustang rims here. Hope someone has used these before so I can get some sort of idea of what they will look like. I swear I saw some on a car here but couldn't find it when I was looking.

No Harness. I have another option of a 5.0 ho too. Man I'm on the fence. 3 options completely different. what do I do?

Yeah I agree but I'm doing a 5 bolt conversion / v-8 car on a budget. I offered the guy $100 for all 4. Its a start.

From the pictures it looks like the harness laying on top the intake. I asked and thats the last thing I'm waiting to hear about before I say I'll pick her up.

I have 3 sbc for my z. 1 010 block needs bored. one 010 block great shape. A 4 bolt main out of a 79 truck that needs bored. I started cleaning these engines up trying to make one good engine out of them. I went on craigslist looking for a cheap intake and so on and found a lt1 out of a caddy. 250 bucks and its all there. Thats what the rebuild gasket kit with new rings cost. I emailed the dude and hope it works out. Any feedback on these engines? I feel it is a better choice than one out of a fbody or vette. Just not as beat up on. but iron heads. I did change my look on the engine after reading the how fast is fast enough post. This engine with a few goodies will get me an easy 300+ hp. with a 5spd this should make for one fast little z car.

Anyone running these rims on their car and have pics of them?

The originals use to slide right up on there. I had them earlier this summer and even though the spindle was cruddy they still fit. Telling ya they were in that plastic cup for 2 yrs. and now their gone. I guess thats how it happens.

Heres my photobucket address. I have my slr set up to send them to my mac which uploads them there too. Kinda cool and make uploading pics simple. We tried 6 new ones measured them out. there was a 1mm diffrence. I'm lost. And I dont want to do the tap er down and see thing either. I just checked that link and it said set 6 too. I'm going to go shoot some pics and will post them.

Its a 76 280. The 5 lug hubs were off an 85. I tried the A-6 but it's inner is too small and it doesnt go far enough up on the spindle. The dia. I need is 25.5 to sit on the spindles and we looked for one at my local parts store and had no luck. The one the computer and parts book said was a-6. I'm kicking myself in the butt right now for loosing the originals. Thanks so much for responding and for any help.

I did a search but wasn't having any luck. I'm doing my 5 lug conversion and I dont have the original wheel bearings from my 4 lug hubs anymore. I went to the parts store got some A6 or something 6 bearings and the were too small. They only went so far on the spindle. Does anyone know what the right bearing is for it. We cali. the dia. out but had no luck finding the right size with the right race. Got home and thought I was going to be playing with hubs tonight and now....... Man I'm bummed.
