  1. ok so i have hearded a few things about back pressure. one that the z engines like it and the other that the less back pressure the better. i put an after market exhaust, 3inch, on my z with an exchangable catalatic converter so i can use it or just put a pipe that goes to the exhaust. i have been running it with just the pipe but am wondering if puting the cat on would give better performance. any suggestions would be appericiated.
  2. no no its behind the intake and right before the throttle body
  3. yea i got a complete 3.1 stroker droped in. new pistons crank cam everything from intake to exhaust and more air + more fuel = more power in most cases. i got the more fuel just need more air
  4. hey i have a 78 280z and have been looking for an aftermarket mass air set up for my car. there use to be a guy in my town that did it but hes no longer here so, if someone knows where i can find one please let me know. thanks.
  5. yea i know of tires but i dont believe those fit on the stock 14 rims
  6. Hey i have a 1978 280z and i have a problem i have been working with my tire guy in my town and we cant find any dot drag tires. we looked at bigger rims but couldnt find the tires to fit it. However we did find full slicks but the class i am in doesnt allow them. So if any one knows of a set up that will fit my car let me know. Thanks.
  7. i did just that i increased the amount of incoming air, and need the extra fuel
  8. yea i know there will need to be a little modification but im just looking for the best performance and esaiest instalation
  9. ok well i looked all over the site i didnt find much on this topic so im going to ask myself. i have a 280z 1978 and im looking for an ADJUSTABLE fuel pressure regulator and ive been looking for one that fits my car. ive seen universal ones but i know about some uneversal parts and a lot dont fit the way they should. haha soo if anyone knows and recamends one let me know please and where to look for it thanks.
  10. hey, i have a 78 280z and i am looking for a new efi system to get the most out of my engine. i have heard of a few with pros and cons of many, but i wanted to get some feed back on what people think of their efi. Thanks
  11. nice that was very helpfull any other helpfull suggestions just send my way haha
  12. people have also recomended megasquirt do u think that would also help?
  13. ooo my bad i was thinking u were talking about ram air yea ofcourse forced induction would work but would that be good for the engine since the engine is high compression and a turbo or supercharger is not
  14. ook heres everything i added in the new engine big bore kit p90 heads 3 angle valve job stage 3 performance cam set f54 l28 block 89mm flat top pistons 240z rods ld28 maxima crank comprtition head gasket new bearings new gasket set new oil pump new water pump new timing chin set coated 3-2-1 header new injectors performance flywheel inlarged throttle body and a cold air intake also a performance clutch
  15. well i added a cold air intake and new exhaust which i forgot to mention but it ran a 16.65 but some of that might be my shifting. would forced induction help u think? i added a new can and crank one being a maximum crank or cam i forgot which one.
  16. hey, i have a 78 280z with a couple month old engine. Its bored out to 3.1L, new cam, pistons, crank, head,.....all new. I recently took it out to the track and was expecting much more then what i got. Im a little straped for cash now so i was wondering what people think i should add for the most horsepower. Ive heard many things such as rising rate fule pressure regulater, electric water pump(which would only add a few) and ovcourse NOS, but i rather not mess with that so any suggestions would be great.
  17. here are a few pics of my old stock l28 engine and my new 300hp stroker l28 engine hope you like
  18. hey i was looking at pictures of other peoples engines and i noticed a lot of people have fuel rails i know a little about them but havent heard if it improves hp or just replaces the old system and looks better. i have a 78 280z so if any1 can give any advice on weather this part will help performance, just make my engine look better, or just a wast of money
  19. hey go to http://www.thezstore.com/store/merchant.mvc it has a kit with all the carpet pre cut and comes with the glue you need to install. it requires a little cutting in areas but it will be a lot easier then gettin a roll of carpet. my carpet looked just like yours(all sun stained) and this last summer i installed this carpet now it looks brand new. i would say it is worth the extra money.
  20. just go and look around at http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PRC they have a lot of products
  21. id say add a stroker with a racing cam, possibly add a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, performance throttle body, and a cold air intake would all together add almost enough horsepower to reach between 250-300
  22. well i have a 78 280z and have been wanting to do a l28et swap and have been told its very dificult to switch it out because of a new harness which would have to be found then installed. if anyone has done this swap before could you give advice if its that hard or if it is even necessary. thanks
  23. i just need a few things like taking a few rust spots out new lager breaks, sliks, intercooler, fule presser regulater ........ the list gos on and on haha
  24. around 400 once i add a little more then just a good turbo
