  1. I am a big fan of just welding in pre-fab sections. It works out the best in my opinion. If you get a good supplier the gaps on the edges won't be anything to weld as they provide sufficient overlap.
  2. It really depends what you want to bend. I've had good luck with my Howron Metal Bender. I bought it from these guys: http://www.barnonediesel.com/Metal_Benders.php I liked the price, being American made, and the customer service above all. I initially bought a Chinese bender and it never bent straight and finally one day bent all to heck . I won't make that mistake again. I hope this helps!
