  1. Updates! Molded the Winfactory CSL-R spoiler into the hatch. The fitment of the raw piece was incredible, very well worth the money. The sideskirts and flares have been bonded to the body, the screws are temporary. The TBO side skirts took so much work to fit correctly, the door sizing was way off, one side was too long the other too short. They fit perfectly now. The TwinZ rear bumper has been edged and permanently installed.
  2. Here's some more updates, the fenders, hood, and sides are in primer. The doors are mounted on the new hinges. Took the front suspension off again to prep and repaint the engine bay.
  3. Okay everyone! The moment I've been waiting for!!! Little teaser shot of the paint. I fell in love with this color when I saw it in person last year at Cruisin' OCMD. Any guesses!?
  4. Thanks! I love the Twin Z and WinFactory combo! As for progress... I've been busy working on my garage while the Z is at the body shop. Hopefully we'll see some paint on the exterior by early next year. Here's some pictures of the garage! This is what the garage looked like with the previous owner... This is after we removed the floor tiles: Then degreased the floor, and went to Home Depot to rent the floor grinder (THANKS FOR THE HELP 93fairladytwinturbo!) Then degreased the floor a 2nd time, rinsed, acid wash, and rinse again The floor right before the first coat of Epoxy After 1st Epoxy coat After the second coat It was a mad rush trying to get the epoxy down while the temps were semi-warm yet, but it came out great! I put a quick floor plan together to get things rolling with the electrical and whatnot. Then the first load of tools arrived from the old shop. Keeping everything in the center of the garage for now so we can install the electric and rapid air.
  5. Hey guys! Sorry it's been awhile! Getting married next month, and bought a house back in July. I've been working mainly on the house. The garage will have to wait for a little while. Updates so far. Body work is coming along, no rush since I'm not ready for it at my new place. The TBO sideskirts didn't have that great of fitment and needed to be modified for perfect fitment. Antenna hole welded closed and roughly smoothed over. Passenger side is all done! Next is the driver side quarter and hatch/spoiler.
  6. All done! Shipping out on Friday! I'll put some more pictures up once Japspeed installs it, and gets some dyno numbers! So excited. Rumor has it that they will be going with a polished finish on the manifold
  7. Just about there. To Do List: Weld Injector Bungs Fuel Rail Mounting Throttle Cable Mount
  8. Some more progress pics: Beads are getting nicer and nicer. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! It's starting to pay off!
  9. Got the Nissan Titan intake manifold finished... Just waiting to be installed Here's some updates on the VH45DETT Japspeed intake manifold!
  10. Here's some progress from tonight... made the angled throttle body neck from a flat piece of aluminum. All welded up..
  11. Thanks man! Here's some updated pictures from the weekend.
  12. It's intercooler piping .0787" wall Got the passenger side flange all welded up last night. Note to self... don't drink coffee while TIG welding lol caffeine makes ya hands shakey! Got the upper flange welded as well. Then machined the runner mouths.
  13. So she is still at the body shop. Here's a little preview of what I've been working on lately... Intake manifold for a Nissan Titan VK56DE...
  14. Made some progress on the Z this weekend. Got the fenders and hood in place. All the gaps are perfect and square. Passenger side fender it in primer... installed the hood pins, anad repaired all the dings in the hood. Started fitting the side skirts. Hopefully the front end will get done this week!
  15. I had a torque plate for the VH45DE made. Although it doesn't pertain to this build just yet... I thought you all would enjoy some machined metal goodness It is also available for rent!
  16. The all the VH coils have +/- 20 years of wear on them. This makes for a less powerful spark. They only put out 21kV to begin with. The Audi/VW coils put out 30kV from what I've researched. I have a friend who is putting down over 400 awhp in is S4 using the same coils. He's had no issues thus far. I was reading up and VW has a recall out for some of their coils. I'm thinking they know there was an issue and got it fixed with the newer ignition coils. I'm going to take a look at some other coils as well, like 350z ones.
  17. Found some ignition coil packs from a VW that actually fit under the coil pack covers. They also don't need the adapter plates. They are more expensive though since I need to import them. Not sure what will end up being more affordable in the end.
  18. A little more progress with the intake manifold. Smoothed out the runners. Before: After:
  19. The engine bay is now in paint... back on with the suspension! Body work is next! Got everything in for the coil pack upgrade, now I just need to wire them into the harness... no more PTU!
  20. This weekend I pulled the front suspension apart again for the second time. Greg (the body man) had been working on smoothing the wheel wells out and got some spots in primer. Here's a little preview..
  21. This is about as far as I will go with the intake until I get the engine in the car. Time to get busy with body work! Engine bay almost ready for primer... This man is the best auto body specialist I know, watching him work is like watching an artist. I cannot wait until he starts on the exterior, that's when the real magic happens!
  22. Loaded up the Z to go to the body shop Monday Got some parts in yesterday, I had some 304 SS exhaust flanges laser cut by Aqua Cut Technologies. Great people to deal with!
