  1. I totally agree with Tim on this. After you spend a lot of time working on it, you will start to like 'it'... and 'it' starts to like your $$$ ... During the course of the project, there will be times that you want you give up. So, you really don't need a lot more reasons (rust, body works ...) to stop you from working on it. In my opinion, you should use it as a part car, or get rid of it and find something that's in better shape to work on. Huy
  2. Jason, RacerX, and Metallica Thanks so much for your advices. I'll be shopping for a cheap spray gun this weekend, and probably some gray primer from PPG. It's time to get the project rolling again. Thank you, Huy
  3. Hi all, I just got the fenders and the cowl sandblasted. Now, I’m going to paint the inside with POR15, and the outside with a primer like PPG DP74LF=red. I have three questions: 1/Should I use the red primer (I’m going to paint the car red-orange), or another color (like gray or black)? 2/ Do I need to get a spray gun to spray the primer on, or can I just brush it on since I’m not going any bodywork on the car? 3/ If I need a spray gun, which one do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance for your inputs, Huy
  4. Thanks so much for your hospitality Tim. Will meet again when your car is all done. Huy
  5. Tim, Naked or not, we want to see it . So what color is it? Dark Blue? Huy
  6. Please response. I've already sent you 3 PMs regarding the engine. Thanks, Huy
  7. Thanks guys. I like the one that Zed got for $79. I like the one that Tim and Jeff recommended too, but I don't think I can go wrong with a $79 sandblaster. Zach, it seems like your method is working out real good for you. I just check out your website and well...I'm impressed. Thanks so much guys, Huy
  8. Hi, I need to remove some surface rust around the battery tray area, and I really don't want to remove the tray itself. It's very tight . I couldn't get any of my tools in there. Anyway, if you know of a place that sells cheap sanbaster please let me know. Thank you, Huy
  9. Hi all, Thank you very much for your help. I think we've got a very good idea for what to do now. Huy
  10. Hi all, About eight years ago a guy walked into my friend's auto repair garage wanted an estimate on something that went wrong with his 81 ZX turbo. He didn't leave any contact info. and never came back since. Now my friend wants to get rid of the car. Can he legally part it out or donate it to a junk yard? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Huy
  11. Bang, I was looking all over the show for you man ... just kidding ... We got there at around noon and left right after the show. I met Owen, Tim, Pete, Mark (very nice conversion), and Miles. Hopefully, I'll have my car there next year. Huy

The 2+2 door will NOT fit. All body parts from the firewall forward are interchangable. Huy
  13. Thanks Tim. Do you happen to know their phone# or address? Huy
  14. I'm looking for a reputable engine rebuilder in the Los Angeles area to rebuild my 186 heads. If you know any good one around there please let me know. Thank you. Huy
  15. Thanks Mike. I took your advice and went to B&N today. Man, it seemed like all the combos that David Vizard recommeded in that book used the 186 heads. I now need to find someone to rebuild them. Huy
  16. Hi, I found a set of rusty cylinder heads in very decent shape in my garage this morning. Casting # 3927186 and the intake valves measured ~ 1.9 in. I want to build my 350 SBC to around 320-350 HP and wonder if these heads can help me reach that goal. Thanks for your help in advance. Huy
  17. Hi Tim, I think the rep. is right. The law here in CA. said that any kind of engine swap needs to be certified by a Ref. station. regarless of the year. However, new legislation allows 73 and older vehicles to be exempted from smog check (in 2004 this law will apply to any vehicle that's 30 yrs. or older). So, you only get into trouble if you're caught with your 240 which I don't think is going to happen. Tim, just enjoy the Z and worry about it when it does happen. Huy
