  1. The head can be fixed if you take the seats out and weld it make me an offer.
  2. I had the same problem ,check all the wires above and around the fuse box,make sure all connectors ar tight.
  3. this is my nephew holding the greatest tools to remove a broken head bolds min. the vice grips.
  4. here is the only bad part of the head num 6 cylinder dome, the cylinder walls arnt as bad as the pictures showed.
  5. I have 1976 280z with triple webers I will sell for 2000 or best offer needs alot of work.

  9. Will a p90a head fit on my engine?If so what is the differents from it and mine.
  10. More bad news, after cleaning the head I noticed on cyclinder dome had pits and was missing metal between the valve seats this suck really bad any one have a head for sale?
  11. It sound just like mine did befor it went to hell.
  12. The good news is that I got the head off.The very bad news is that 2 head bolds broke. One is in the head and the other stuck in the block sticking out about a inch.
  13. I think I am going to take the head off and look at the valves. What kind of valves should I get, or what company should I get them from?
  14. The valve is up it is the same as the ones that are not compressed. I guess I will take the head off this really sucks. Any one have suggestions on what to do?Befor or After i take the head off?
  15. An interference engine is one that if the timing would get off or a valve would get stuck the piston would touch the valve.. bend a valve.
  16. This engine set for 15 years. I have a nother question are these engines interference engines?
  17. while at home I manualy turned the engine over and noticed when the 4th exhaust valve was compressed it stayed down until half way of the next revolution and the valve would pop back up and kit the rocker arm. So is it a bent valve? Is the valve sticking in the guide?Or broken valve spring how do I tell?
  18. It looks like the valve is moving freely.If it was a bad spring would it not close all the way?I will set the valve lash clearance and I will post back later.
  19. it should be 0.010 in. I havent had time to check valve clearance yet.
  20. Ok, While I was starting my 280 it started pecking from the valve cover. I remove the valve cover and found the lash pad off of the 4th valve, from the front of the engine just laying on the head.I replaced it and now when the tall part of the cam lobe passed the rocker arm, it makes a loud pop, could the rocker arm be to far out of adjustment

My 1975 280z is finally running but after letting it run for a while it started clicking from under the valve cover.So I took the valve cover off I found a valve rocker guide had fallen out of the 4th valve spring from the front. Ok, when bumping the starter over with the key with the rotation of the cam lobe the rocker arm pops up and hits the cam lobe. What will cause this?
  22. If you know about the glass fuses you never know without checking resistance.
