Modular turbo sells a nice relocation kit, as does Huron Speed, On3 performance, and Spoolin performance. I have the Modular turbo unit and it works great. The 105 amp alternator sits level with the top of the TB, the truck 130 amp alternator sits a little above the TB. I use it with LS1 accessories.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. I think a 8.8 out of an explorer would work pretty well. 51" width from backing plates, 31 spline, and lsd. Another option would be to use a torque arm setup like the rx7 guys use.

Sorry if I missed it, but why did you decide to back half the car? What didn't work with the first SA 8.8 setup? What is the total length of the narrowed rear end? What did the housing originally come out of? To many questions? haha
