  1. i still need to get a set of headers that fit the passengers side, an MSD ignition System, some decent Drag Radials that fit, a passenger seat, some carpet, a cowl hood, and a good Nitrous Plate System.... let me know what you think...
  2. Well, i pieced together a new drivetrain for it, so this past weekend, we decided to swap them out... Out With the old... and in with the new...
  3. well, i bought this car around 2 monthes ago and intended to make it into my little budget racer...i figured it was a good deal, $500 for the car...when i bought the car it was (and still kinda is) in rough shape.. the car is a 1982 Datsun 280ZX and already had a 350/350 combo in the car...BUT, the 350 is a bone stock, leaky POS with god knows how many miles...and the tranny slips sooo bad that it wont even budge the weight of the car... The night i brought it home... What i Started out with.... While i was looking for a new Drivetrain combo, i decided to make the car one complete color....heres how it looks now..
  4. you cant make an intercooler fit anywhere ahead of the radiator?

  6. the 2 side mounting bolts are blocked by the firewall...i cant get a socket on them and theres no way i would be able to twist them out...
  7. ok, i have a new motor/tranny to put into my 83 Datsun 280zx. and i was originally just going to drop the trans out the bottom of the car and pull the motor out threw the hood. but, after having it on the lift i found that there was no way to get all the bellhousing bolts out and there was also no way to drop the tranny because of the transmission mounting brackets(welded to the body) so i had to pull the motor/tranny out as one unit. anyone else had this issue? or is it just the way the previous owner did the conversion? i want to hurry up and swap the new combo into the car but i have a feeling im in for a hell of a fight putting it back in as a unit because of the crazy angle i had to pull it out at so it would clear everything.
  8. im pretty sure that the 455 is alot wider than the SBC 350...and the 350 is a tight fit.
  9. i tried to get some camaro shorties to fit...but they dont clear at all on the passenger side... who makes a good swap header for the V8Z's?
  10. mainly just speedo and tach...the fuel gauge works, and i have seperate gauges for coolant, voltage, and oil pressure... i can do an aftermarket tach if i need to, but i would like the speedo to work
  11. is there anyway to make the stock digital gauges in my 82 280zx work with the 350 and turbo 350 trans?

Hi, im new to the forum...ive always loved and and wanted a Z-Car... so, tommorow im going to pick up an 82 Datsun 280ZX T-top....it has a SBC 350/350 combo...so i cant wait to get it back to the shop...look foreword to reading all the information you guys have here any idea on how a stock 350 performs in these cars? like times or trap speeds...?
