  1. You can get south bend clutch, its cheap. Or a spec twin disk for $1200 that will handle 700-1200wtq. That's what I will be buying. And the adapter plate did come in today!! But if your picky about pedal feel and engagement(which I'm not) then you might have to shop around. All I care that it does not slip. I went with a Maveric Motorsports adapter. You can run any 350z clutch with it. If you pick up his flywheel(I think) I kind of did not care about that part, because I was set on that spec twin disk.
  2. I decided that the best way to go is a 350z trans. It handles power, its cheap to buy if it brakes, and has very good clutch selection, and it shifts nice. Already got a 350z trans and my adapter plate is coming in this Wednesday.
  3. So I did get a chance to work on my 2jz mount today. And was able to finish it. Next weekend test fit it and weld it in the engine bay, and paint it. Did grind of the slag to make it look cleaner
  4. Alright, so this weekend I put in more time on these 2jz mounts. First of all I bought to big of a pipe lol. Everything seems too beefy. But I don't have another choice so I will have to go with what I have. Ran out of daylight when I was test fitting so had to call it a day. Did not get to finish it, I was bummed. Welds were not so pretty, but they penetrated so they will hold. Did not get a pic how the cross member sits in the car. But its just a copy of beta motorsports lol that I'm trying to make. Hopefully next weekend I will get them test fitted and welded all together.
  5. Yeah those were my plans at first. Now I'm thinking that I should just buy the 2jz-GTE motor and go single turbo lol. The NA-T is the cheapest and fastest way to get turbo'ed. But once you want a lot more hp. You will need to upgrade more. I just started working on my 2jz engine mount lol.Trying to find some one to mandrel bend this pipe for me. Not a lot of places do it.
  6. ^^ Thank You. So finally my Diamond Racing wheels came in 15x10s, I went and bought 205/50/15 Falken 512s. And spend the whole day trying to stretch then lol. My local shop that stretch tires said It was impossible to put a 205 tire on a 10" rim. Well I managed to get it on. Burn my face and arm a little from all that starting fluid. lol I'm going to install my flares soon.
  7. So this weekend I did my Coilovers front and back. I reused the top stock top hats. And here is how it sits now.
  8. Here is a little update. Installed coilover camber plates. For some reason the welds looked better in person lol. My MIG welder with the wire I had did not wanna bite that 3/8 plate so I had to flux core weld it, which was a little messy. But I did weld it from top and bottom and I don't think that's going to go anywhere. My plans this week are to make the same bar on bottom as I did on top.(and yes I did copy that from that 9sec evo build lol) Start welding up the coilovers and make a 2jz mount. I have a lot on my plate. Going to order some diamond racing rims, so I just have something better then stock 280z rims, because I will need to install fender flares soon as well. Plus I do like them diamond racing wheels in black 15x10.
  9. Hey, any one else come up with a Beta Motorsports style 2jz mount? I really don't want to try to make it my self lol looks like a PITA.
  10. Alright finally was able to put more time in. Finished passenger side frame rail. Corners were a pain to get in. After words I primed it all I had cut and welded. Now major part of the rust is done. Just some more right on the front end. I want to get the under body done first, painted coated and sealed, so I can install new coilovers tie rods and so forth. So It would not feed like this is an never ending project. Here are some pic's. Really hoping when I paint it black or w.e and put the under body coating, should look a lot cleaner then it does now. Really looking forward to installing the coilovers. Ganna drop it hella low )
  11. Here is another update lol. Still working on driver side rust. There is so much. Lots of cutting and bending and having a hard time welding thin sheet metal. Very time consuming process. I have to finish welding everything together and grind it down. Then it should look a lot cleaner. Because it looks rough now lol
  12. yup its fine. The chassis is very light. That's the biggest rust problem there, and I'm going to fix it first. Rest of it is solid, the rear is in excelent shape. It's not going to twist on me. Decided to Por 15 the whole under body. I will see how it turns out. Little worried about it, because quite a few steps to apply Por 15 to make it work good.
  13. Here is a little update. I spend 4-5 days sandblasting and cleaning and scraping old undercoating what a PITA. And did not get to work on the front with the sandblaster. I have fixed up a little more rust just don't have the picture yet. I did not think it was going to be so much work but you live and learn. I cant say I'm not enjoying it. If I only had more time to work on it. Before new years I want to fix the rust and put it on wheels. With new DC2(integra) coilovers installed.
  14. I saw this guy restoring a 240sx. He made it out of wood. And I just used stuff I had laying around in my garage to make it happen. Works great makes the job easier lol. Boosting the 2jz GE motor is simple. All after market parts available. Just need 92-97 non vvti motor. Plans is: precision turbo 6768 2000cc injecotrs +e85 aem ems. All other supporting mods.
  15. Sup all. So I bought a 77 280z that I will be restoring then building. Only get to work on it on the weekends so its a slow process. I decided to put the 2jz motor in it because if you want to make nice power and reliable, seems like the best choice. Its going to be just a weekend car no track or anything except maybe go to a drag strip that's all. Inside the car there were receipts dating back to 1982 until today for all the repairs that was done to it with written miles. Its 80k Original miles Fuel pump was clogged and it would not pump fuel so It did not start. Here is when I was towing it home. Sitting in the garage, man such great looking car. And finally, start stripping evrything. lol sorry phone pictures. But now I'm working on removing the undercoating which is a PITA. But its coming along. This is where I finished off this weekend. Alot of work ahead of me. But hopefully before it gets cold here in chicago I'l have the under body done with new suspension installed and it will be a rolling shell. Already picked up a R154 transmission and have a 2jz ge out of a sc300 in the garage that will do a OEM rebuild, and boost it.
