  1. I am looking for a drive shaft from a 1976-78 280Z only. I am in Hawthorne and looking for a local pick up only. I am installing a 1981-83 diff in my 1975 280Z and I need to have a 1976-78 drive shaft from a R200 diff to complete my swap. Email me at kaviti74@yahoo.com if you have one. Thank You. Shadesh

  5. Thank You.. that answers my question. I appreciate it
  6. Thanks .. Do I have to pull the pistons/chain/oil pan etc out if I want to get the block decked? Or can I just take the complete engine block with the pistons/chain/oil pan intact and have the machine shop deck it. That was my original question.. sorry if I was not clear..
  7. Hi, I am in the process of replacing the head gasket in my L28E engine for my 1975 280Z. I will have the head cleaned and inspected and slightly milled. I don't plan on freshening up the block with new pistons or rings or bearing as I think it still has a ways to go before I need to rebuild. My question: Do I have to get the blocks' mating surface to the head milled/machined or can I get away with just bolting the head back on? I raise this question because I don't know how I can get the block surface milled without taking it apart, or can I? Your comments will be appreciated.
  8. For now SU's seem way to be a cheaper way to run my car. I am planning on using the EFI at some point when I can afford to have my injectors cleaned and to purchase all the sensors and so forth.. I think EFI is a good way to go but you have to be ready to freshen up some of the components which mind you are 30 years old. Naviathan, pm me on the eccentric. I am in southern california..
  9. ok.. now I see it. Thanks jasper. That helps... My engine probably does not have it since its a L28 with EFI. Now I have to find the eccentric.. Do I have to buy the eccentric only or do I have to buy the sprocket and all? Don't know if my question makes sense..
  10. I am sorry but how do I identify the eccentric on the cam gear? what does it look like?
  11. I have a 1975 280Z which I am converting to SUs. I have a N42 head and block and the head has the hole for the mechanical fuel pump. What do I need to do if I want to use a 240 mechanical pump? Does the cam pulley or anything on the engine has to be changed or can I just bolt on the mechanical pump??? Thanks in advance..
