  1. Like many others I would be all over that rear. I like the front but I want to know, is the lower part of the front stock or part of the fabication?
  2. I swear I love you guys here. I've been having the same problem with my car after this recent rain storm, and now I know what it is. Thanks hybrid z! On another note I wish I could attend the meet but as you all can see I live on the other side of the country.
  3. No im not. I found a 280zxt awhile back, hell i've even posted on here about the car. But I curious why did you ask? For the right price I think I would still buy a nice s30 or z31.
  4. And if fits you can make me one too.
  5. Thanks a ♥♥♥♥ load guys I am glad a posted this. Tony im gonna try what you said, and do it myself. I really appreciate the help.
  6. Ok this is strange. I have a 83 280zxt and I took the car to a local shop that specializes in z cars. So as Im going up there and the car just dies on me. Hasn't done that in forever and wouldn't start. I had to have it towed to the shop and when it gets there it starts right up no problem. The guy tells me that my distributor is overheating and needs to be replaced. He also said its a common problem in these turbo cars, but I was sure about that seeing as I have been lurking here and on other forums for awhile and never heard of it. So what I want to know is, is he telling the truth? Is there a quick fix for this or do I need another distributor? And how hard is it to change myself? Thanks a bunch guys.
  7. It feels like the whole door is loose, but i've heard plenty of cars with loud, rattling doors. I mean, the car rides smooth, its not shaking because of tires or brakes it just feel and sounds like various part are old and loose. Maybe im not explaining it right, but im sure someone knows what I mean.
  8. I don't know if this is the right section to post this but I have a 83 280zx and I guess because its an old car the door panels and other sections of the body seem loose and shakey. Does this mean I need to get all new bushings to tighten the car panels better? I tried searching but the search is too vague and Im not coming up with anything.
  9. Update... Today afterwork I checked a few things (spark plugs, fuel pump, injectors, alternator belt, fluid levels) and started her up again. Idled fine for about 5 min. took it for a spin around the surrounding area for about ten mins. or so, everything ran fine, hell almost as good as my 2003 lancer. Got back home, once again idled fine until I turned it off. But as it was idleing I opened the hood to see a little white smoke coming from the spot where the intake bolts up to the engine. What is causing this?
  10. I will be checking the alternator tomorrow after work, thanks guys. But while the topic is open, in was idleing slightly rough also, does that have anything to do with a bad alternator too? I was thinking it was a fuel problem.
  11. Just let me know what info you need. The po said the car sat for 4-5weeks without him even starting it but he said it ran like a champ when he parked it.
  12. I just bought a 83 280zx turbo (auto tranny) a couple of days ago and this is what happened. I had to bring a battery, because the one the PO had was dead. I put the battery in, it started fine, idled a little rough not bad but it was fine to drive I thought. So I'm on my way home I make 2 stops, each time turning the car off and back on and it started fine. I get close to my house and boom the car dies. I put it in park, try to start and it takes awhile but I get it up and running again and now it dies everytime I stop or the rpms get to low. If someone could help me with this, or at least point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
  13. I did think twice. The more I looked at the 2+2 I kept thinking I really want a coupe, so as luck would have it, I found a guy local selling a turbo 280zx coupe t-tops and all!! Im picking it up fri. Thanks for all the advice guys.
  14. Very good point. Well looks like I may have to pass this up but on a good note someone else contacted me about a 78 280z 2+2 that has an near perfect body. Thanks for the estimates, really helpful.
  15. $1000 is the asking price but I would say I could get it down to $700 maybe. The only reason im thinking about it because he say the engine runs strong.
