  1. Don't you think that that's a tad bit dangerous for a street car? No, but if I can't find anyone close to me, I'll definitely ship it out to them. Thanks!!
  2. I have the most heartwrenching story to post up later about me and my new 240z over a 1200 mile road trip. Right now, I need to know what I can do about getting rust out of my fuel tank. It clogged up the lines twice. I heard of something called "boiling the tank," but there isn't anyone around me that offer the service. I'm willing to spend money to fix this problem. I'm going to KO now.
  3. My firing order turned out to be 241536. Problem solved.
  4. What does the timing adjustment slot look like? I'm sure my noob is showing.
  5. I just gave my 280Z a tune up, and surprise surprise, no more starting. At first I put the wires in the wrong order, so it misfired. Realizing this, I switched back to the proper order, and at this point all it does is crank to some ridiculous extent. It has fuel, air, and spark. My current guess is that the replacement distributor cap is the culprit, since the original looked like this: and the replacement looks like this: I'd think that maybe timing is now off by some 15 or so degrees because of the new cap (which is the only replacement I've been able to find) and is the source of my dilemma. I'm dying here guys. It's been an entire week without a car. Please, any help will be greatly appreciated.
  6. You know, I found that thread, but I didn't read that much. Wouldn't I hear a popping sound out of the exhaust or intake if it weren't in the proper order regardless?
  7. Quick history: I did a tune up and put the ignition wires in the wrong order. Flooded the engine with gas, so I dealt with that by doing a few dry cranks after cleaning the fouled plugs. Didn't start. Getting fuel. Getting spark. Cranking. No idea, it's stumped me for 3 days and I'm feeling pretty downtrodden about it all right about now. It was all working fine before the tune up, and unfortunately, I threw out all the old parts already, but based on the testing, it should all work. Please, any advice?
  8. I think it's worth mentioning btw that my distributor cap looks different from the above.
  9. Baha, I found it in Daeron's Sig. Starts from 10 o'clock. Damn Autozone.
  10. I pulled one of the most noobish mistakes of my life. Removed the wires/cap and whatnot without checking where everything went. I did a search on the firing order and found it, (too young/old/right) but where do I start from? This is what Autozone shows: And this is what I snagged off someone's thread as far an a bay shot goes: Think is, I also recall the number 4 wire being where the #1 wire is in the above pic, but it would also be in the proper location if it were based off the Autozone guide. Is the Autozone guide not labeled from the actual starting point? Or am I ****ed six ways from Sunday?
