  1. I bought some custom overhead switch panels that were made for the 240z off ebay on a whim. I kind of thought they might be cool and I'd never seen any before so I bought them. No I have them and they seem pretty cool but I'm striking out on ideas of things to do with them. The AC system I'm installing has an electronic control piece so I thought that might be cool especially with the lack of space in that center dash area(I have a double din radio). Also thinking I'm going to install some lights and do away with the little dome light. It came with 3 sets of them and one of them has the seatbelt lights installed in it which might be a cool idea.

Just figured I would throw it out to you guys, see if you had any ideas.

    Thanks

  2. Alright, so I've been battling a headlight issue for a couple weeks and I added another layer to it today. The headlights have been working sporatically so I thought I had a problem in my switch and planned to replace it. But I decided this weekend to install my new speedhut gauges. I removed the dash to make it easier, wired up the gauges. I ran a power wire to the fuse box(this is an aftermarket fuse box, not the original). I hook everything back up and it works perfectly, not only that but the headlights are back on. Then 5 minutes later...everything just stops. The gauges aren't getting power anymore and the headlights are gone. As a side note, everything else works. The brake lights, turn signals, even the running lights and the tail lights come on when I flip on the headlights. Just the headlights and the gauges aren't responding. I feel like maybe this isn't the switch now and it may be something easy. When I turn the switch for the headlights, there is a clicking in what looks like the original relay under the glove compartment. Fuses are all good. I feel like this might be something simple I'm overlooking. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. Plata, I too like you lost the little blue "Donating Members" letters below my name recently. But I'm still winning because I have existing threads in the for sale section. So I'm thinking of myself as a residual donating member. At least until I sell something and the guilt eats at me and I donate again.

  4. Ok, so I'm dealing with a crappy situation. My dog, who I used to love very much, got hold of my headlight switch and chewed the wiring harness. I was able to reconnect the connector but I'm not sure where everything else plugs in under the dash. I looked at the wiring diagram but I can't determine where a couple of the wires go. This was simple before when they had connectors.

I have a solid red, a red with blue line and a blue with white line that I 'm not sure where they connect. If someone can take a picture or let me know what color wires those hook up to?

    Thanks

  5. Well, I'd say he probably earned it at least on a local level. Almost anybody in Baton Rouge that knows anything about Z's brings him up when I say I have one. I did get a little insight in that phone call yesterday. Apparently, he was doing pretty well converting cars through out the south during the 80s. But one of the guys who bought one was going a little too fast and lost control. He crossed the median and hit someone head on. After that, he closed his shop and opened an inspection business out in front of it. He bought the wrecked car to help out the family, stored it away in the shop and apparently it's still there. He told me he has stacks of stuff in that shop that he was going to show me and I was told his widow will likely want to get rid of it. I'm going to wait a while but I will ask her if she needs any help sorting through it.

  6. Well to pull the thread back to its original intent, I just received a phone call that the man above known as King Z passed away from a heart attack this past weekend. He may have been a little rough around the edges but he will be missed.

  7. Got a nasty transmission leak and new fuel line to run to get it mine on the road but I should fix those this weekend. I'm shooting to have the interior done for the show in April. Thinking about making the drive to Memphis for the ZCon in July if my AC is installed and working by then.
