  1. There used to be a video on YouTube that featured a very powerful and gorgeous SCCA 240z race car. When clicked-on it says that the video was removed by user. This was the description for the video:

The Datsun 240z scca track car vs the Subaru wrx sti on a 2 mile race track. Both of these beautiful exotic machines with fine tuning show there raw power, and full potential that they can perform at. tuner parts supplied from there sponsors maximizes both of the cars potential under the same class of cars competing together. With tuner part nam... Jul 4, 2010

Did anyone happen to download the video before it was taken down, I have been trying to find it?

    Thanks

  2. I can't complain they did a good solid job and they do know what they are doing - I feel confident that these seats won't rip out if I'm ever in an accident. I'm willing to pay a bit more if it means less worry in life. -D

  3. I didn't want to get into much fabrication - $. You know it is kind of nice to be a little higher in such a low car, you can see a bit more, you (men) have a bit more shoulder room at the window and the arm rest placement is better because your elbow is a bit higher - and we all know how rock hard those things are. :) Beyond that there isn't much difference - it would have been nice to have the stock leg room though. -D

  4. Yeah, Speedware is expensive, they are used to rich Mircosoft ex programmer management types who think they can buy cool. $30,000.00 suspension upgrades on 1/4 Million full retromods etc. It's amazing to walk around there to see what people throw money at, it also makes you feel better that there are those who are much bigger fools than you are. :)

You can check their Facebook page for they have some pics there, I didn't take them so I can't post them.

    Cheers

  5. Thanks. :) Yes Speedware installed them well. You loose a couple of inches forward and I wouldn't be able to wear a helmet inside the car but that's fine, they did minimal cutting to get them in nicely. The install cost me $700.00. Here are a couple of photos of them installed and one of the outside merely because I’m so dam proud of it... :)

  6. Doc Hawk did you ever get these to fit your Mikunis'? If so what part numbers did you install? Thanks Dave.

Superdan, I like those a lot. What part # did you buy? I have written them for info; I'd like to see a diagram that shows the mounting points so I can figure out if they would bolt up to my Mikunis, behind the horns. It seems like a 6" assembly would clear my fender well, and provide plenty of headspace for the stacks.

    Thanks for the link!

  7. Nice looking seat install. I have to check out the colour schemes for those seats, as my interior is brown, and the black seats would look out of place. Will have to start checking out S2K seat colours.....

You could always just dye them…

  8. Yeah I was careful about where and who I bought them from. I found a legitimate deal and made sure I had a signed declaration from the woman before I took possession. The ironic thing is her S2000 was stolen two weeks after I bought the seats.

I'm willing to take the risk for the comfort.

  9. Thanks for the reply. It was done by Deans Transmission on 4th Ave. in downtown Seattle. The fellow is used to working on the mustang version and we had to send it back to him once since he shipped it to us with a ford input shaft instead of a Nissan one - the mistake could have been done then. Would it still be drivable? -D

I just added a cut away for reference...

  10. I took the car out for its first test drive last night; it has a newly rebuilt T5. All of the gears on the T5 make a normal sound except the 3rd gear which wines like a typical reverse gear on most stick shifts. Does anyone know what would cause this, and is it something I should be worried about, that is will this sort of noise go away given time? The gear seems to work normally - I think, for I am new to the T5.

    Thanks

    Dave

  11. Thanks Guys! After reading all your comments and after some pondering I think I'm going to go with the S2000 seats. I like the fact that you don't necessarily have to do any fabrication on the tunnel, which is a concern and a costly one at that. I will still get it professionally done but just the bracket and tell them to fit it keeping the clearance. One fellow I know who does fabrication told me that you can replace the S2000 factory sliders with Recaro sliders in order to further lower the seats. He indicates that the sliders in the below thread are Recaros.

    Again much thanks! Dave
