what kind of complications did you run in to?

i ve been looking at two different kits for mounting an lt1 into a 1976 280. the two kits are JTR and msa, i was wondering about the quality of either, or any other plusses and minuses of either kit that any of yall have come across. ive searched the archives and i havent found any one certain opinion. i ve thought of building my own mounts and i can proly do it but id like to jus be able to order them, they be right and be done with it? any opinions are appreciated

300$ for running 76 280z $500 for '94 lt1 v-8 400$ into v-8 (converted to carb) $120 for working turbo 350 tranny built my own mounts .....i have a buddy thats a owns a laser cutting buisness and he let me use some scrap steel to build the mounts with. haven t gotten into body and paint yet. so far im about $12 or 1300 into my project.

i do have a 1981 280zx 2+2 what do yall think about that?

i have a 76 280z five speed. i also have a 1994 lt1 motor (converted to carb). i am planning on putting the lt1 in the car. i've read other posts that talk about the jtr mounts, msa mounts and scarab, im just wanting some opinions as far as which ones are cheaper, better, easier to do that kind of thing. im debating whether or not to switch the car to automatic or get a t56 or something, any suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks...... any links to pages i can order from would be awsome too.

i have a 76 280, the doors are both broken and wont close so i figured i'd go ahead and improve the looks, so has anyone done a suicide or lambo door kit?? if anyone has please let me know how difficult it was or if you have any pics that would be awsome. i appreciate your time, thanks

i now have another datsun, 76 280, the fuel pump wont kick on when you turn the key and i was wondering how to fix that, however i have run a hot wire to it just to make it pump while i try to get the motor running. im getting gas all the way through the fuel rail, but i dont think its getting through the injectors, the car only has 80,000 miles, and was driven up till a year or two ago. the guy who had it said it just quit going down the road and he towed it back to the house and it sat there (for a year or two) till i got it. i was just wondering how often the injectors go bad or if a relay or maybe even the ecu is bad?? any suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks

i have a 81 280zx and i, like many others ive seen, have a major rust problem on the rear passenger quarter panel. the corner is rusted out and under the gas cap is rusted. is there a patch panel i can buy somewhere or am i basically just going to have to make something?? thanks

does anyone have any suggestions for a good set of wheels for a 81 280zx? im looking for 16x... i like the wider wheels that come just to the edge of the flares on some other z's and i was wondering if anybody knew where i could find some, or what sizes i should be looking for that wouldn't rub too bad

does anyone know where i can find a set of headers that will clear the steering shaft from the firewall to the power steering pump??

alrighty, thanks for the info. on the passenger side what are you runnin into, is it the fender well or all that other junk over there?

looks good to me man, i am currently doing the same thing to my 1981 280zx 2+2, im putting in an lt1 that i have converted to carb, and i am also looking for a hood. i haven't pulled the old motor and test fit or anything yet, ive just been workin on the motor here lately. have you had any clearance issues with headers, distributor or anything?? if ya got any advice it's greatly appreciated. thanks

hey i am dropping an lt1 into my 280 and the motor is currently carb d. i dont believe its gonna fit under the stock hood. if anyone knows who makes any hood i could use on my application or where i may be able to find one please let me know. thanks

hey im currently working on putting my 1994 lt1 into my 1981 280zx 2+2. i have began to switch the lt1 to carb and i m wantin to go with the HEI distributor....will i have any clearance issues?? and anyone who has any advice about what tranny i can fit please let me know. thanks
