  1. Is it crucial where the fitting on the oil pan for the return line goes? I just gonna tap a hole and put a fitting on an na pan for the turbo oil return. Just wanna know if there's a specific spot it has to be or do I got some room to play with? I know it goes on the left side of the pan roughly in the middle.

  2. Built 500hp motor shooting flames in-between shifts = cool.. Flamethrower kit? Not so much

As far as tail lights.. I've seen someone put the 70's skyline tailed on... The round ones with the center reverse.. Those looked nice.. But I'd rather just do a slight tint like the z31 and that's it.. Stock is best IMO .. I grew up in the supra tail lights on integers generation and that's what I think every time some one does something like that.

  3. Sounds like a parasitic draw.. Check for it with a meeter hooked up in series with the battery.. (disconnect a battery cable and put the meter at the battery to the disconected cable with the car off) helps if you got a charged battery too. Anything over about 0.5v is high. If it is, start pulling fuses one by one to pinpoint the circuit that's drawing the power.

  4. Is there a way to tell what kind of oil pump I have? Is there a part number I can look up or any visual differences between the turbo and na? I'm doing a n/at build and need to know. My oil pressure has allways been a bit high that's why I'm asking.

On a side note, the oil feed line to the turbo comes off the sandwich plate right?

  5. I've also heard that the s130 suspension is not very suitable to going sideways as you put a great amount of stress on the mounting points an the bushings because of the semi-trailing arm design. As a result, crapping out the bushings like nobodies business and running the risk of snapping the 30 yearold bolts that hold it all togather. The multilink on the 240sx' are much more forgiving in that matter and provide a better feel for getting your ass end out.

  6. Hahaha it's kind of hard to get some pics, most of the time It's a spur of the moment kind if thing, like "oh! That's a nice corner or empty a$$ parking lot, let's go dorifto" lol I think I got a pic of how it is right now in my albums if you want to take a look, otherwise I'll post one up later tonite after work.

  7. No pictures or ass backwards into ditches stories, but I do occasionally like to show up the 240sx guys that my 28 year old can hang with the new kids and look cooler doing it. As of now I'm running cut springs and tokico blues for suspension, rota grid offroad 16x8 +10 offset with a 5mm spacer in front. No LSD, still running the pegleg. Motor is mostly stock, upgraded injectors, intake and exhaust. I was surprise how easy it is to get it sideways and keep it there tho, the first time I tried it in the 280zx it caught me by surprise. I used to rock an '80 datsun 210 with a 1.5 powerhouse and gutted interior.

  8. I'm looking for some parts to finish my turbo conversion..

    - Turbo oil lines pressure and return

    - Stock and working turbo t3 (little to no shaft play and in decent condition)

    - turbo oil pan

    - oil filter sandwich plate for oil pressure line

    Misc parts I'm looking for

    - Japanese language voice warning box

    - working digital cluster

Pm me or email me at "jdmb310@gmail.com"

  9. sorry, ive been tied up at work recently, uhh, no, the car was running fine before, as i mentioned earlier, the AFM is new, the original one went out, and i mean the original original 30 year old nissan part. Ive tested out the voltage and it was fine. unless i got some bad ground somewhere? would a bad ecu ground do that? i keep hearing about a bad ground at the ecu.

  10. The turbo injectors were on the car when I first got it but were replaced because the old ones were stuck.. I know the car runs rich but I never had the problem with them before I've been running like that for about a year and a half with no issues.. The ecu is stock. And my correction AFM couldn't rememer what to call it, that wa the first thing that popped in my head hahaha, I usually deal with newer cars

  11. I have an 82 s130 na, and recently on the freeway the motor started to surge, not all that bad but it's noticible, normal driving is fine, it's just at higher cruising speeds it will start to surge. I can't really put my finger on what it can be, I'm kind of stumped.

Here's what was done with the car..

    New turbo injectors

full tune up, plugs wires cap rotor etc

    new MAF

    new TPS

    new O2

    All the temp sensors replaced

    EGR blocked off

I can't really think of what it can be, maybe a computer issue? Any leads would be appreciated, I really don't want for the problem to get worse.

  12. 95DB in california, I got reffed, I know, passed at 92DB with the MSA catback with the "turbo" muffler it comes with. With a cat, also the ticket for modified exhaust is not repairable, so no point of getting it reffed, i jumped through all the hoops just to be told at the courthouse that its not repairable.

As far as exhausts go, anything after the cat is technically legal, as you are not supposed to tamper with any smog devices, cat back is after the smog therefore ok, also as long as its not too loud you'll be fine. that kind of depends on where you are, some cities are more relaxed than others, the city where i live is not as anal about modified cars as the one two exits down where i got pulled over. i suggest get whatever piping you want and get a muffler that doesnt jump out and say look im modified.

  13. ok, so the Jim Wolf ECU is basically a tuned Z31 ecu made to work with the 280? that explains things, because i knew the Z31's had speed limiters. thanks for the cleriication everyone, so my car is just slow hahaha, its ok, im getting the turbo pieced together right now, that should make up for the crappy top end.

  14. I was looking at the Jim Wolf website at the ECU's, when i came upon something curious, they said that the new ECU removes the speed limiter? I was under the impression that my n/a s130 was just slow, or do these car actually come with speed limiters in the states? I've heard of them being used in japan and elsewhere. Anyone have an answer?

  15. theres so many holes in the description when you break it down into details. The claims in the 1/4 mile? NOS? you can make the slowest car do a decent 1/4 with enough spray, probably blow it up in the process tho. And with a motor that was built for what is claimed as a race motor theres some things that look.. well, unprofessional or questionable.. silicone head gasket? How well does that work? Has anyone tried this? It beats having to resurface the head and spend the $15 on a new gasket. Just like the radiator fix junk you put in the coolant and the block fix. All wonderful products PROVEN to extend engine life and reliability. the claims are ambitious to say the least.

  16. out of all seriousness, i haven't seen many 1/4 mile built 280zx's, at least to the extent of the s30 chassis, let alone using a motor that was offered in the car. True some of the claims do sound way too good to be true, an easy solution to that? VIDEO! kind of surprised that for a 280zx that is as fast as claimed, would not have a nice bragging rights video attached or even a dyno sheet.

  17. Doing a turbo swap on my s130. Need the factory T3 turbo, nothing modded or aftermarket for the sake of the swap being as painless as possible, Obviously has to be in good condition ie little to no shaft play and has to actually turn. Downpipe will be nice to, but i can modify the msa one if i have to. Let me know if anybody here has one, any leads will be good too. Thanks In advance.
