  1. I noticed they installed the windshield without a gasket by glueing it in place with the rubbery black windshield adhesive and smoothing it to make what appears to be a flush mounted windshield gasket. I wanna try but don't know what the windshield flange looks like. I thought the windshield would fall through the frame if no gasket was there. Or am I wrong and there is a pinch weld flange to glue the window to? anyone else done this?

The windshield has a single flange that the OEM gasket rides on . Then the window fits into the receiver channel of the windshield gasket. I have heard of windshield adhesive that comes in 10 inch bars of clay like consistancy that apparently work well. A friend of mine just installed a plastic window on his boat with this material. Hope this helps

  2. How do you change this type of belt? I have a tool that I think is made for this. It consists of a 18 inch lever, with several sizes of three pronged retractable circular collars. I guess I lever the idler back, then change belt, then let idler back on. :?:

  3. I was at the Corvette event at TMS in Ft. Worth. Several of the classic Vette's ie 1957 and 1967 hasd LS1/6-speeds installed. They were awesome. Wondering where I can get this drive train. One vette owner paid $6k ( 4k miiles on wrecked 2002 vette) for the LS1 and T-6, then sold T-6 for $2k since trans would not fit in his '67 stingray.

  4. I need to replace a stripped threaded hole in my chassis tapped for 14MM. What can I use as far as size to retap and use an oversize bolt? As usual I am fixing a shoemakers error.

  5. Can you let me know what you used as the fuel opening part. Looks like a motorcycle component. I have been looking for a while for something like you used and would like to know what it is from?

Also, how did you ( if you had a pic that would be nice too ) contact the fuel opening with the fender from the inside. Is there a gap or is it flush to avoid spills and odor??

  7. Whats the best way to take out hail damage? I have been hit by the Texas scourge with about 100 nickel size hail pock marks, most of which I can get behind on the sheet metal.

What process can I use for this. I visited several paintless dent repair places and have seen basic tools like long rods, wax droppings, etc and think I may be able to take a bunch out myself.

  8. My rules of buying cars ( sorry to say which I dont always observe and have always regretted)

Rule 1:never buy a car that you have not seen in person or driven

    Rule 2: obey rule # 1

Rule 3: most of us do pretty much total rebuilds anyway so buy a good body without rust ( California or Texas ) cheap

    Rule 4: Obey rule #2

    Good luck

  9. I tried to bleed the Tildon clutch master and slave today. Never got past the master as the plastic reservous had a leak due to a crack. I am using the mity vac.

I need to know the bleeding proceedure to do this job. I guess that you bleed the master first. Then, bleed the slave which is at a lower level. Then probably go back to bleed the master again to insure air is purged totally.

ALso, can I buy the pastic reserve part, or do I need to buy a new master. I so can you suggest a place to buy from?

  10. Getting ready to add mufflers and tail pipes to my 280Z. Looked at search but wonder if anyone has a good suggestion since there is not much room under car. I plan to have small type muffler ie glass packs, and tail pipes coming out in front of back wheels. Looking for suggestions.
