  1. And have the ice box welded together. I'll work on mounting and fittings tomorrow I think
  2. Got my cert today Went easier than I was stressing about! I thought for sure they would inspect my back half connections and my subframe connectors They really just checked for complete welds at the roof line and good visual Inspection along with ultrasounding all the bars. They commented more than once that the cage was really nice and the welding was superb. I understood what they meant after looking at other cars!
  3. All prepped and ready to chassis inspection tomorrow
  4. Well, I'm happy with the race weight. I think I can shed 40lbs before the season starts. This is full 10 point cage, 4l80e, billet converter, s480, twin fuel systems and a 9 inch OMG with a water Intercooler with icebox This is with me in it. Car is right at 2550
  5. Ok. My L99 balancer measures 4-3/8 tip to stern. And eyeballing the seal areas on the 4th generation camaro and the L99 to the tip of the balancer there seams to be about 5/8 to 3/4 difference. With the L99 being longer. So I'm thinking LS3 is Fbody distnsce and L99 is truck distance
  6. Got my tranny upgraded now, billet input and billet direct drum. This makes it a Jakes stage 3 rebuild good for 1000whp Got it all married yesterday and reinstalled. Feels good knowing the parts I'm putting back on are on for final!
  7. My plan is to be at Nissanfest and import face off. There is a local 1/8th mile here in elma I'll be at religiously every other weekend I bet
  8. I can't confirm, but you just may have. The LS3 in the manual camaors might have the original Fbody pulley spacing. The L99 which only came in the auto camaros have the farther out truck spacing. I have my L99 balancer at home and can measure for you
  9. Sounds like the auto L99 with vvt. That's slot for just a water pump? Can you have the truck pump welded to, to get the drivers side outlet?
  10. Thanks for the props. I really enjoy building stuff!! I do have an alum heat sheild that is cermic coated with some Dei reflective material in it from the last setup. Still fits good. The new exhaust is getting ceramic coated too and in the areas that needed I'll header wrap as well. The battery side needed the same thing too. I tried without but started melting it!
  11. All done but the waste gate screamer plumbing. I'll do that after the radiator is final fitted
  12. I'm just about convinced to go the intake route at this point Here's what I got done tonight
  13. So my buddies and I are tweekin YouTube and run across the Crusty Nova and his kids maibu. Both some serious drag cars. When my friends noticed they are running water/air intercoolers in the intake. They teased me a bit about it but that got me thinking. I was already installing a water/air setup and did some searching on eBay and found a core that will fit my intake perfect. What's your guys thoughts on cutting my intake top off and making an Intercooler sammich? Core is 18x10x3.5. Lingenfelter sells a similiar setup with a 15x7x3.5 that there cooling a 1000hp with. It's intriguing to me and moves some weight back on the car
  14. I need to rework the collectors a little to slip on tomorrow
  15. Got a good start on the headers. Passenger is just about welded and the drivers side is half done and is a mirror image. Have good plug access and spark plug wire clearance. Only number 3/4 are tricky to get on but a little twist and push and they pop on. Nice thing about not having any side motor mounts is from underneath the whole area is wide open and plug access is even better
  16. I'm excited for this year and this portion of the build to get tidied up Got some small items to get done this week and I know I keep saying it, but looks like headers are this weekend I need to actually weld the motor mounts in to bolt the plates in place, then mock up some hot pipes to locate the collectors. Then it's header time
  17. Had to mill the water pump 1/4 inch for thickness of the motor plate and got all the accesorys on. Balancer will get installed tonight and rather than starting headers I need to locate the turbo first
  18. Getting close again on this. Firewall recessed about 4 inches for flex plate shield and motor set back Headers are next for new turbo setup
