  1. Ya, those are excelent links. If there were plans for the trailer I built, it would have taken less time for sure.This is my first car carrying trailer and only made for a Z or anything else under 2500lbs. With the single axle, you barely know its back there.

  2. I half agree with you, if you have a decent sized area to work in , have good metal cutting saws ( not a sawzall ) and a 208/230 mig it can be very satisfiing to make your own trailer. However, if your missing just one of these elements it will be a very unpleasant experience.

  3. I'm having this same problem with binding. My car is lowered 2-3", R200 LSD, MM companion flanges and flipped 300zx CV's. The wheels turn freely while on the lift, but off the lift, you cant even push the car.Ive had to swap the 280 axles back in.

  4. the bad dog jack plates are designed to weld to your rocker and floor pan. They should be centered front to back along the rocker with the 1/2 ' bar on the inside of the lip thats along the bottom of the rocker and the 1/2" flange is on the outside of the lip. The angled end should contact the floor pan. When weled in place, you can jack the whole side of the car at once.

  5. Dont do it. No matter what car you get, its gonna cost your hard earned money. You have most of the key ingredients to make your Z something really special. Evo's are a dime a dozen and it sounds like you'll have a payment to go with it. Stick it out, pace yourself and finish it when you can.

  6. Find a good powder coater that will acid etch your parts and powdercoat them any color you want. Most of the trim on the first gen Z's is polished Stainless and could also be beadblasted to add some hook for paint. I wouldnt use spray paint on any trim pcs.
