  1. Ok. So it depend of the brand of tire. I'll go with the BF suggested then. Here is the look I would like for my 240Z. And those are the wheel I'll use. Those are ROH. Now just need to found out which color I'll pait the car. I'm changing idea every week!!!!!
  2. Hi, I'm about to order the tire size mention above for my 240Z. It's lowered of about 1 inch and have pretty firm spring. I've been searching a lot and some people say they rub, some not. This is with stock fender. No flare. I don't know the offset of the wheel but they're pretty flush with the fender from a view from above. does anyone here have a similare set up and is it Ok? Tks very much in advance, Joce
  3. I've been searching for 245/50/15........ are there still available somewhere??? Does anybodu have a picture on some mounted on a240?
  4. Your right for that! there isn't many choice for that size. What is the point where you need extra ajustement? I don't want to have the car too low. Probably 1 inch would be fine. This combine to the wider wheel and spacer, will I need additionnal ajustment?
  5. I'm currently working on the following upgrade on my 240Z: - Datsun Performance Coilover with Illumina and F218/R271 springs - Front and rear swaybar - ROH 15 x 9 Wheels - ZG Flares The tire mounted on the wheel are 205/50/15. Two of them need to be replaced. I have spacer for the rear wheel of 1¼ inch which bring the wheel 2 inch out of the fender (ZG are not mounted yet) For the front, I have spacer of 7/8 inch. If you check on the picture attached, the wall for the rear tire is to low to my taste. I would like a bit more rubber at least in the rear. Front look Ok I think. Would 225/50/15 look on the rear and fit the wheel? FYI, my car is not the one on the picture. It is the one I'm taking the parts from. For the camber ajustment, since I'm going with larger wheel and spacer, would I have enough ajustment for proper alignment? I've been searching a lot on the site but didn't find the exact post that could help me. Thanks, Joce
  6. Hi, You should reassemble the galipers in order to remove the piston in them by applying air pressure trough the hose fitting. If the piston are rusted, change the galiper assembly with a rebuilt one. If I rembember, piston are around 45$ each and a rebuilt galiper is around 85$.
  7. I've tried the varnish stripper. No effect at all. I suspect these springs all already powdercoated. They're 8 inch blue spring. Don't know the brand since they we're install efore I got the car. Is sandblasting is the only way to remove powdercoat? I'll try the aircraft stripper this week to see the effect. Joce
  8. Good advise. I'll contact my powdercoater tomorow to see his opinion.
  9. Thanks for the advise. So should use another way to paint it then. What type of paint would you recommand to have a decent solid paint the would be hard enough to stay on those springs?
  10. Hi, Looking to have powdercoated my coil springs. Would sandblasting affect the rate? I know this have been answer somewhere but can find the post now that I need it! Thanks, Joce
  11. Hi Everyone, Quick presentation. I'm a long time 240Z lover but unfortunatly living in rust paradis which is Quebec, Canada. After searching many year for a decent 240Z, I purchase a California 240Z that has been sitting fo the last 20 years in a chicken barn under a blanket. The car is 98% rust free and interior is in very good condition. But it need a good mecanical refresh. I've been searching for the last 4 month for idea and direction for my project and now I'm pretty sure I know where I'm going. Ive purchase a few weeks ago a second car. It is a 1972 240Z that has been damage since the garage where it was had fire damage. The paint and body are wreck mainly because the fireman went on the roof to try to end the fire in the ceiling....... The good thing is that the mecanic is nearly intact. Even the tire are still good! That 1972 have a lot of racing parts so I'll be using a few of them for my 1970. So here is breifly the project: - The car original color is White 904. So going back that color. Currently stripping everything to have a nic job: motor out, every glass remove, door, hood, hatch, ect.... - Will be keeping the the L24 since it is in very good condition. Here are the nice parts I'm swapping from the 72 to the 70: - 4 wheel Hurst/Airheart disc brake system - Electronic distributor - 280Zx Alternator - Performance coil and Wire - Datsun perfomance 5 speeds close ratio transmission - Datsun performance 4.11 LSD diff - Coilover with Illumina and F218/R271 springs - Polyuretane bushing all over - Performance front and rear swaybar - Performance clutch - ROH 15" Wheel (will be painted "grahite") - Clifford SS headers 3-2 with twice pipe exhaust - BRE Front spoiler (will be painted gloss black) - And few other upgrade. The orange car is a member here. Sorry, I forgot the name and on which thread I found it. So it will be closely the same except in white and no rear spoiler. Should be ready for next summer if everything go has planned Will try to post some progress picture Joce
