  1. Yes, it's fine to use resistor wires on a STOCK turbo motor, but not with MSD. Lucky for you, I can't imagine a simpler problem to fix than swapping out the wires. Get some Magnecores.
  2. Are you running resistor NGK wires? You can't run those with MSD. That will definitely cause what you're describing.
  3. Not only are they compatible, now they have the LC-1 for 149$ w/o a sensor...I suggest buying several sensors from 1stvwparts.com anyway, so you might as well get the cheaper price there on all of them.
  4. Everything you need to know that isn't posted in our Megasquirt sticky, is here: http://www.megasquirt.info
  5. No need man, if you're unhappy with your car, I'll trade you straight up.
  6. Will be installed soon next week when my strut housings are powdercoated... New arms from Ross (http://www.Modern-Motorsports.com) TCR's + ajd replacements (2 sets) from Techno Toy Tuning (http://www.technotoytuning.com) Thanks guys - both sellers shipped very very quickly and returned my emails immediately. It goes a long way!
  7. http://www.megasquirt.info Read the manual. Read the installation guide. Then read it all again. Every question I have ever been asked about MS is answered in the manual. If you don't understand how the system works from the manual, my suggestion is: don't get one. Luckily, it's pretty easy to follow and if you spend the time to go over the material, I think you'll catch on pretty quickly.
  8. Guys, get the VLC player - http://www.videolan.org - that solves 99% of codec problems.
  9. Man! How can you tell us that story and not give us any pics! That's cruel!
  10. They will be so blown away by the awesomeness and quality of workmanship that they will let you go in a stunned silence.
  11. It's going to be hilarious to see how many people buy 400$ cars to turn in for the 1000$ "junker reward."
  12. FREAKING AWESOME! I cannot wait, man! I have been trying to track this down for 2 years now.
  13. Haha, you said it. He is a true believer.
  14. Hahah, my prediction was correct. I knew I didn't have to watch it when I saw the "turn up the volume" part. Dead giveaway.
  15. Thanks for the update. I kept having these visions of him getting pulled over for 120 in a 70.
  16. How about "BYECOPS", that's sure to make you popular.
  17. If Nelson has been on the road 9.5 hours, he might have covered about 2/3 of the distance to his pit stop in AR... Moby, did he have a cell phone with him? I told him to go buy a 50$ walmart phone but I don't know whether or not he had a chance...tha'ts a long trip! Haha, we can't compete with the CA guys, but maybe per capita... at least we are tight-knit. Mike, you should come to one of our dealership meetings sometime. We have several cars worth note (even besides our handful of turbo swap and v8 swap guys) - one of our guys has a mint condition 78 with 27k miles on it (still smells new). It's 100% stock and 99.99% flawless. And our chapt president from Lafayette, besides his show winning 77 280, has a KA swapped 510 wagon, and a mint datsun roadster - he usually tries to bring them all.
  18. putfile.com can host it (limited at 10 megs) for several days...you could post a link to it there until someone here can host it.
  19. And we hope to see you soon Joel! We'll have a few more turbo cars running around BR soon! Moby, I hope everything goes well. Little did I know Nelson would actually follow up on my suggestion and go get your car. What time did he leave?
  20. I'd really like to see it. Have you tried to put it online yet?
  21. John, what backspace are the wheels in your picture? Thanks!
  22. His point is, a mix of both means good at neither. If you're just doing it for fun and don't care if your car handles very well for either, that's fine. People just usually dont' have a dedicated track car unless they're serious about it.
