OK....Thats what i was going with....So its good to know...This is NOT the first time you have responded to my posts/threads(which i appreciate) so i'll have to tell you now that i'll be directing a few questions your way in the future.
Hope you don't mind.
I'll be going with brake kits from silvermine.
TTT'S coilovers also plan on getting the camber plates from them also.
Going back to the coilovers, should i get the kit and have my shop do the cutting and welding?
Or just get their ready to bolt piece?
also what spring rate to i ask for?
-
"RebEkahsZ", Thanks, that was my initial pick....i'm curious. Why did you go with a JTR header despite using a JCI swap kit?
i ask cos i know he sells headers too and they are cheaper.
-
so which one would you ultimately go for?...with closest to the "total" package in terms of streetability...ride height and comfort.?
-
light track duties like perhaps once a year...my struts are rebuildable...budget willing to spend what each vendor is asking for from T3 to BC, Height; i want something i could really slam low....i won't be doing the welding. I'll have a shop do that for me.
also plan on being able to adjust the camber as well.
-
I've got 4 choices to go with:
T3's complete kit
BC racing BR coilovers from JPN Garage.
Stance kit from Sakura Garage
and finally
CX Racing coilover kit.
I know two of them are kits that have that requires cutting and welding, but my questions concern ride height & quality.
car will mainly be street driven.
with some "light" track duties.
I value & would appreciate you guys input.

Thanks so much!

Thanks "RebekahsZ" and all....so i guess i can stick with my current diff....could it be rebuilt to add the LSD?
-
Thanks!! on what diff? if you don't mind me asking?
-
Its been a while folks my K.B of the whole diff. setup is rusty, so bare with me.
I'm doing an ls swap into my 280z, already comes with the R200 diff.
My question is based on my power goals(500hp) and desired top end goals, what diff and ratio will get me north of 140mph?
(on the track of course)
Thanks

nice build joek!...those AZC coilovers?
-
Johns Cars
just for the motor right?
-
any progress?
-
im going with an lq.....more "bang for the buck" so to speak!
-
Following this!, please when you get to the accessories, i'd be curious to read instructions on how you mount the brackets, seems a hole has to be tapped/ drilled with the f-body brackets.
-
if you could please the pics would help....at least i have some direction with your description of modifying the 700r4 base...maybe we'll just mod the one off the donor vehicle..
thanks for the tip!
i think i hit you up on LS1TECH....please disregard
-
For me it was not having to replace trashed 4L60E's all the time. I am only making around 520rwhp on motor and 670'ish on a shot of juice thru the 4L80E but I know the 4L60E would die a quick death unless heavily modified!
zfan1 do you have any type of sketch/plans of your trans mounts for the 4l80e?
-
i agree with you michael, im only going for 5 to 600hp i think i can hit that number with an LT(with boost) i know i'll definitely hit it with an LS.
as far as being "rare" i have plenty of LT donor options around me, from camaros to trans-am's to corvettes... and the vettes have at least 300hp stock.
if i slap a charger on that i'll be in my power range easy.
so it can be overwhelming the swap choices/possibilities.....i have a little while longer to decide. once i start ordering parts either LT, or LS I'm not turning back.
-
good stuff! i hope to learn from your posts.
-
Hey RebekahsZ, i read your write-up and followed a lot of your posts. Very informative.
i'll bet a lot of folks here (myself included) owe their gained knowledge to you, and others here.

hi guys, i 've read tips /advice on a couple of lsx builds here and i thought i'd reach out for some more tipslooking to do an ls based swap into my 78zgetting a great deal on an lq9/4l80 out of a 99 gmc.i have looked into, read all else that this swap entails and i just want to know where to source the accessories to make it all fit.I'm having a shop complete the swap but i need help and tips on where to source parts to provide them....mainly to get the motor runningim talking accesories, oil pan etc.i've done the search, thing and gotten good tips so i know what direction im headed, i know the truck set-up will not clear, i guess i need to know what all i need to source and from what year f-body?Thanks guys
-
Yeah based on the feedback i've already doubled my efforts to go LS, found a complete truck with an lq9 6.0,and an 4l80e....im going to make that trans fit, someone here already has it in an early s30 and he stated it fit surprisingly easy.
I'm just doing research now on what parts to source for the motor.
-
Probably aren't going too find many people that will tell you the LT1 is better than the LS1. One point in favor of the LT1 is that a T56 tranny set up for the LT1 is a lot cheaper. In terms of finding a donor vehicle, what about a truck with an iron block LS motor. Seems a lot of people are using that platform for turbos and/or boosting as well.
yeah joek, im leaning in that direction..been looking at a 6.0l and a 5.3....thinking about going with a 4l60e for trans too....

i really appreciate the comment, i've have observed threads similar in the past becoming one side bashing the other and that's not what this is about.
which is what i meant by "not a debate"

What spring rate will you recommend "BluDestiny"?
