  1. OK....Thats what i was going with....So its good to know...This is NOT the first time you have responded to my posts/threads(which i appreciate) so i'll have to tell you now that i'll be directing a few questions your way in the future.

     Hope you don't mind.

I'll be going with brake kits from silvermine.

TTT'S coilovers also plan on getting the camber plates from them also.

Going back to the coilovers, should i get the kit and have my shop do the cutting and welding?

Or just get their ready to bolt piece?

also what spring rate to i ask for?

  2. I've got 4 choices to go with:

     T3's complete kit

BC racing BR coilovers from JPN Garage.

    Stance kit from Sakura Garage

    and finally

    CX Racing coilover kit.

I know two of them are kits that have that requires cutting and welding, but my questions concern ride height & quality.

car will mainly be street driven.

     with some "light" track duties.

I  value & would appreciate you guys input.

  3. Its been a while folks my K.B  of the whole diff. setup is rusty, so bare with me.

I'm doing an ls swap into my 280z, already comes with the R200 diff.

My question is based on my power goals(500hp) and desired top end goals, what diff and ratio will get me north of 140mph?

    (on the track of course)

    Thanks

  4. i agree with you michael, im only going for 5 to 600hp i think i can hit that number with an LT(with boost) i know i'll definitely hit it with an LS.

as far as being "rare" i have plenty of LT donor options around me, from camaros to trans-am's to corvettes... and the vettes have at least 300hp stock.

if i slap a charger on that i'll be in my power range easy.

so it can be overwhelming the swap choices/possibilities.....i have  a little while longer to decide. once i start ordering parts either LT, or LS I'm not turning back.

  5. hi guys, i 've read tips /advice on a couple of lsx builds here and i thought i'd reach out for some more tips

looking to do an ls based swap into my 78z

getting a great deal on an lq9/4l80 out of a 99 gmc.

i have looked into, read all else that this swap entails and i just want to know where to source the accessories to make it all fit.

I'm having a shop complete the swap but i need help and tips on where to source parts to provide them....mainly to get the motor running

im talking accesories, oil pan etc.

i've done the search, thing and gotten good tips so i know what direction im headed, i know the truck set-up will not clear, i guess i need to know what all i need to source and from what year f-body?

      Thanks guys

  6. Probably aren't going too find many people that will tell you the LT1 is better than the LS1. One point in favor of the LT1 is that a T56 tranny set up for the LT1 is a lot cheaper. In terms of finding a donor vehicle, what about a truck with an iron block LS motor. Seems a lot of people are using that platform for turbos and/or boosting as well.

yeah joek, im leaning in that direction..been looking at a 6.0l and a 5.3....thinking about going with a 4l60e for trans too....
