  1. Hey Rob & Chris,

You guys are doing an amazing job!!! Car is looking real nice. Lots of talk around town about it. The project is becoming well known

Sorry I havent been around in a while, been busy with Adam's Sentra, the Drift car & my own RB26 project.

Hope to catch up with you guys soon

  2. Hey guys

I'd love to drag the trans out and fit it up properly to see how bad the offset is, but the car still has a motor in it. Wasnt planning to take it out until the spring.

I saw the posts where its states that the RB26 bellhousing fits onto a 300zx rear section/internals.

So, does any one have an RB26 bellhousing they want to sell???

  3. Hey guys

I was looking at the RB26DETT and L24 blocks in my garage and it seems to me that the bolt pattern for the transmission bell housing patterns are the same between the two designs.

Can anyone comment on this ??

Seems there might be a possibility in using the T56 tranny (which I have) instead of getting a hard to find RB25 unit.

Anybody have any information on this???

  4. Hey guys

Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread from you, but a quick question.

Is the plastic lined fuel cells permitted for road racing? I believed they were only for Drag racing

I want to install a fuel cell in my car (soon to be road raced here in Canada) but am curious to know if the cell I choose to buy should be alumimun or steel skinned.

    thanks

    Jeff

BTW- I like the install, very clean !!

  5. I've done my '72 zcar with the sump in the bottom of the tank, and really like how it works.

I can run the car right out of fuel before noticing any starvation problems on corners.

I have also done a turbo install on a '76 280z using the stock tank. Apparently the tank already has baffles inside from the factory. We havent run the fuel level down as much on the 240z, but it hasnt shown any starvation yet.

So I would say that you shouldnt have problems with baffling the inside of the tank. Just make sure that the baffles are setup to contain the fuel around the pickup, and still allows fuel to run "Under" the baffles when the level gets low.

  6. Hey Guys,

I know you flamed me for saying this last time we talked about this, but I mounted my sensor on the "intake" the turbo.

You laugh, but I have never had a problem with heat soak, and the car has never shown any problem with the way its tuned.

When the car comes out of storage I'll try the locations your using and let you know what differences I find.

  7. Hey guys,

Can anybody tell me if a Greddy Emanage could control igntion timing of a an E12-80 distributor.

I believe in theory it would work, but I cant imagine how to get into the black box of the distributor to wire up the Greddy.

    Anybody got any vcomments?

    Jeff

  8. Hey TonyD

I had some problems initially with my setup (although not exactly same symptom as you) and found my problem to be that I had hooked up the MS 12 volt source to one of the alternator wires.

It seems that the alternnator throws out some crazy EMF pulses that seem to get damped the further away you get.

As soon as I moved it away, closer to the fuse box all went well.

  9. Has anyone tried the LC-1 and hooked it directly to MS.

I think I read that MS can take in a preprogrammed value and adjust the MAP values after a test run.

Can anyone provide some info about this???

  10. You mention that you are using the LM-1 to do the tuning.

I'm considering buying it to better the settings on my cars and my sons turbo'd Sentra.

Keep us all informed on how you like it.

I have heard that tuning the car is so much easier with a wide band setup like this. But by the way your last post is written, it doesnt seem to be working well for you.

  11. Heres a link to my map to try out. Use the one called jeffsNAmap.msq

    http://www.execulink.com/~jkube/Fuel%20injection%20info/

First save your own map to your your computer ( if you havent done so already).

Then open Megatune and open my file and download it to your MS.

If the car is idling low and doesnt seem to change no matter what you do to MS, maybe your TB butterfly is too closed. Try opening it up a bit.

The other thing to look over is your timing. Maybe it needs to be advanced a bit.

Also the fuel pressure can affect the idle, It think it should be around 32 to 36 psi. Maybe yours is too low at idle.
