  1. Looks like the stock euro air dam and stock bumper, the bumpers sit in farther in than the u.s. Bumpers I been wanting to do this myself by hacking the bumper shocks and trim off the back of the bumper.

euro's had different bumpers, why was i not told of this?! does anyone know if someone on the forums has one for an example of how much hacking is necessary?

  2. a friend of a friend got rear ended in his volvo (don't remember model) and was scrapping the whole thing so i bought the IC off him for $10 ($10, not a typo). Well when i got home i popped my hood to check out how i would eventually go about piping and mounting the whole thing. And then i began to regret my deal. The endtank outlets are at the absolute WORST angle for installation (sorry about blur):

no matter which way i flip it or turn it either way i'll be forced to use weird angled piping

i was thinking of getting custom endtanks welded on but the only ones i could find were HKS or Apexi and i'm a cheapo and can't afford them and i'm guessing custom ones are pretty pricey as well. Do you guys think i should go and get some quotes for the custom endtank install or just see this current IC and put the cash towards a better one with better inlet and outlets?

also on a side note if people post some suggestions or post pics of their or other peoples intercooler setups i would be eternally grateful

  3. hey guys sorry to bring up another one of my old threads but i'm back for some more advice. So i got all the parts needed for my turbo swap except for a few so i wanted to ask for your guys opinions on a few options for intercoolers and blow off valves. First off i'll be going to a junkyard next week where i'm hoping to find an intercooler off of a MKIII supra, some people say it flows poorly but is it really that bad for just a small horsepower bump like i was hoping to meet? (around 220-240) and also i'm not very well versed as far as blow off valves go, should i just buy a new one or try to pull one off of a car there and what cars would have blow off valves there? also while i'm on the subject i heard that i would need to get a BOV that also recirculates the air back into the system (something about the L28 being very finicky about the loss of the mass airflow?)

  4. i don't need the HG, its just that running a flat top setup will put me at risk for pinging without lowering the compression and i'd rather not risk it and seeing as a HG is cheaper and less intrusive than new pistons i'd rather do that

  5. doing a flat top turbo conversion and need the HG to drop my compression, also since i foresee myself breaking my cracked to hell dashboard while installing the wiring harness i'd be interested in any decent dashboards you guys are willing to let go. car is an 81 zx if that helps any

  6. i recently picked a turbo setup from a guy and while i did get half of the downpipe (goes from turbo and makes a 90 degree turn downwards)I didn't get the other half of it. I'm looking either for the other half of the stock DP or a decent one piece that doesn't have 90 degree angles all over the place. I have a 81 ZX.

  7. hey guys, sorry to resurect an old(er) thread but i had a few more quick questions if anyone is willing to answer them. So i got pretty much all the parts needed for the NA to turbo conversion but there was one this i was unsure on, are the dropping resistors from the NA motor the same as in the turbo motor?

  8. Is it really that easy? i'd heard that swapping the zxt dizzy was bolt on if i get the oil pump shaft from said zxt and that if i couldn't find a shaft i could somehow grind the collar on the zxt dizzy to fit the NA oil pump shaft.

i'd been planning on adapting a 300zx dizzy to my motor for an upcoming turbo swap, people keep saying to get a turbo distributor and change out the internals but the zxt's are getting pretty hard to find these days. So i was looking at some way to adapt the 300 dizzy without needing a 280zxt dizzy and by doing something like swapping out the collars with the NA distributor i could get away with it. Sorry if i sound like i'm rambling and anyone can feel free to shut me up:mrgreen:

  9. few things:

yes, i have searched my ass off on this subject so please refrain from yelling at me. Now that thats out of the way, i'm just asking for someone to give me information on what exactly is required to do this swap. From what i've heard, i need to change out drive spindle on my oil pump, and at some point i'll need to do some grinding on the dizzy... Thats about all i've got, so if somebody could point me towards a writeup or just give me any information it would be greatly appreciated. Also, i've noticed from my haynes manual (keep in mind it gives no exact measurements in its diagrams) that the NA and Turbo distributors might be able to interchange collars, can anyone confirm this? I'm not telling you guys to do the searching for me, i'm just at my wits end with this.
