a quickie.. Soo I have had a Z for like 10 years now and I have been picking up go fast goodies whenever I am able. I have also been honing my fabrication and mechanic skills. oh yea.. lotsa tool buyin too. Ill be building this car as as I am able alongside a coupla others. I'm hopin this one is done first. Im hoping to spend a good bit of time on the track and watching phil and cameron has meant track day dreams were normally in a Z. Everyone loves pics right? first up was some rust repair, not very much really. Ill have abit more ahead of me, itll get taken care of as I work on certain areas of the car. Next was a biggie. camber plates.coilovers.poly bushings.wilwoods. phew.. long coupla days there. I have abit of a dilemma at the moment. The interior in back is still taken apart from the camber plates. to roll bar or not to roll bar that is the question. The roll bar pic is one I built for a 944t. aside from that, next major project is an engine bay repaint and update. maybe even swap my mc so i can enjoy my brakes. to be continued.. Sam

hello hello hybridz! So many cool cars being built right now! very motivating to hear about so many people building/pushing thier cars...! So first was my 76z, 4th car, first sports car. crushed, the rust had its way with that car. second, the car I bought to replace the first, a 78 out of a barn(a very dark barn) 10 years of rot in the tank and 50lbs of bondo in the body.. what a sad joke. I still have the car, I have replaced massive amounts of sheetmetal for practice. it may even see the road again. third, and this is the tricky one.. a 79 280zx. I didnt like them befor owning this one but it has grown on me. Im glad I have vinyl seats. that might have been a deal breaker. tockico shocks and springs and good brakes. this car has takin alotta crap from me hehe and now we arrive at my newest, a 78z. Zeeta! It was named by its second(?) owner, the car came with alot of old bills etc. it was on a few of the shop invoices heh Im #4 or something like that. Soo.. Here I go again. to be continued. Sam

+1 for ZX's driving well in the winter, mine is on winter duty now. I havent run with snow tires, I keep telling myself I wont drive my datsuns in the winter heh. I bet they would be great tho. I have an awd soob that has snow tires so I have an idea of what traction can be. What are you looking for in a ZX? Mine will be for sale soon.. Sam

Hello fellows, I bought a thermal arc 200 ac/dc this spring off of ebay this spring and so far im very happy with it. I leaned how to tig on a miller sd 180. probably something like 20-30 hrs on that machine. When I was shopping price and power draw and power output were my main concerns. I also considered the htp machines but went with the thermal arc in the end. If I could have gone with a 20yr old 300amp non inverter based machine I would have in a heartbeat but my power supply is what it is. Power output: I wanted to be able to do ic and radiator work. Most everything I have used the machine for so far has been light but I did run some fat beads on some 1/4 alu. without issue. Power draw: I run my machine on 220v 40amp service and a 50' extension cord(heavy bugger) and have never popped the breaker or had a machine fault code. machine is also configureable for 3phase. Price: 2200ish delivered with a nice accesory kit(torch pedal torch multiple cones, collets and tungsten). equally equiped miller or lincoln inverter machines were around 2700-3000. I have about 20 or 30 hours on the machine now with no hiccups but only time will tell. I still cant use it to its fullest capabilitys but i am deffinitly still a beginner. A new torch is in the works, it came with a 27 and i am buying a 9 for light alu. I think that about covers it, if anyone has any q's shoot me a pm or email. Sam

Im working on a rb in a s14 240sx and the stock oil lines have been crapped up to make room for the steering linkage. Stock lines on hks twins. Are the any kits to replace the stock lines? I have looked around abit but havent come across anything. Thanks, Sam
