  1. I really liked the exhaust. I was thinking of something similar for my z. What mufflers are those?
  2. I bought mine a couple of months ago and it apears to be about a 1/4 inch to big to fit between the frame rails.
  3. Ragefear, boy it sure seems that we are just about in the same boat. I was just going to install the LS1, as I started to clean the engine bay and pulling the harness back I found rust on my flor boards. It seems the more I look at it , the more I need to do. My understanding as far as the fuel pump goes is that the ecm from the ls1 harness controls it and the ignition turns it on. My understanding is that you don't need the pcm fromn the Datrsun at all.
  4. Ragefear, thanks. rwwisnesky contacted me and sent me pictures and a diagrahm that he drew. I saw the linkthat you posted, but for some reason I just didn't get it. When I looked at it for some reason I thought that it didn't apply to my situation. Of course, Vinh has been a great help. He was out of town for a while and I didn't want to keep bothering him but I like I said, he is really nice and would go out of his way to help.
  5. rwwisnesky, Do you have any better pics? I look at you car domain photo and I am still a little unsure. With the stock motor the purge line ran to the canister the fuel pump feed the line and the return line returned the excesive fuel? I will take some pics tonight, but the ls1 has two lines one on the rails and the other on the manifold. When I looked at your setup, it looks as though you have the fuel pump feed to fuel regulator that is "t" to fuel rail/corvette regulator then I am a bit confused because it looks as though there are three fittings on one side and a return? I am sorry if this is a dumb question.
  6. Oh boy, I sent my Harness and ECM to Auto Computer Technologies last week. I guess I should have waited longer for replies. I have so much going on that if it takes twice as long it wont kill me. I just have to have it back.
  7. Boy, that looks sweet. I hope mine looks half as good when I am done.
  8. I have a 75 280z and a 2002 camaro ls1 .I have searched, but I am unable to find any pics or directions for using the stock gas tank with the ls1 conversion. When I look at the pics that are posted, it seems that everyone is using a fuel cell or the ls1 tank. Has anyone used the JCI fuel pump with the corvette fuel filter to a stock camaro fuel rail? Maybe I am looking at this all wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. So, did you order the plugin harness? I have tried on 3 occasions to contact Auto Computer Technologies. It seems like a good deal, but not getting a reply makes me leary. They just posted it again for 250.00
  10. I wasn't sure if anyone else has had any dealings with this company, but it looks like it might be a good alternative to the painless harness. It looks like for $200.00 they will rework your Harness and for $50.00 they wil reprogam the pcm. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS1-LS6-LT1-Engine-Wiring-Harness-Rework-1994-2007_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33553QQihZ014QQitemZ330244248797QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW I looked and I didn't see this posted, but thought that others could benifit from it.
  11. I have to admit that is awsome and chalk me up as jealous. I have the motor and I have gotten a lot of help from vinhzx. It makes me want to go work on it right now. : )
  12. Have you decided what to do about the exhaust? I am glad there is someone else who thought it was a good idea to do this at the begining of winter.
  13. I once was a purist, then paid way too much to rebuild my l28. I then found this site.
  14. Well, I finally came up with the money for the swap and it looks like a go to pick up the motor this weekend. Mark at High Performance Salvage has an 02 with 10K waiting for me. I got his name from Hybrid Z as with all of my information. I am here in Austin Texas, so San Antonio is just around the corner. BTW I have lurked here for a while. Scottie,s article on his GNZ first brought me here. I just wanted to say HI and thanks.
