great to know.....I really want to do a lot of performance mods to this car, but not now...Ill be lurking till then

I bought a 280z, 78 model. I am having issues with the clutch. The previous owner said the guy before him put a 5 speed in. The problem is there is no clutch adjustment left at the pedal, and the pin sticks way out before it touches the clutch fork at the slave cylinder. I tried bleeding and there is no air in the lines......Could the parts be off? I am totally new to zs so I am trying to learn as much as possible.....I searched hard....I even tried to add to another old thread, but it was in the 300 forum....sorry. Last of all, I am trying to find a list of what engines and trannies were in what cars in what years and info on them......Sorry for the long post

hate to keep beating a dead horse, but I have a problem. This is my first z, and I am trying to educat myself. The tranny has been converted to 5 speed from a 4. The clutch engages at about an inch or two from the floor, with no more adjustment to the master cylinder.......The slave rod is way out of the cylinder in order to touch the fork.....I need more clutch, but there is no more adjustment. I cant find anything unless you already know z cars....I dont know tranny or engine numbers......I am having a hard time here. Any help? Are the components matched wrong or something? There is also a lot of clunking in the shifting.......SOrry mods, this is for a 300zx, mine is a 78 280, can this post be moved?

Hi all, I have been searching and came up dry. I want to clean up the engine bay.....Basically simplify the fuel injection stuff, you know clean it all up, but being Ca i think I need to keep it somg legal.....Any pics or ideas....Is there a nice kit that will add performance, but clean uo the cluttered appearence of the fuel injection system? Thanks for the input.
