  2. Anyone who reads this and needs info cause you ran into any of these problems please go to tech section in Atlantic Z all information is easily available. I think I scared everyone off with this post. And MSD are kinda slow when it comes to Z cars search MSD 8920 and don't even call them.
  3. I am looking for an egr bpt valve also known as exhaust gas recirculation back pressure transducer valve. Thank you for you time please pm if you have also mounting bracket would be greatly appreciated.

  5. I am in the process of moving but will be calling In my favor and getting a msd 6a or 6al box tomorrow. I will call msd again cause your right I popped the cap off and it doesn't look like points. It was in a dark barn at the moment and hard to see anything but will be getting towed to my house by next week when I move. I will take pics and show you what I'm talking about. As far as my setup I'm pretty sure everything is stock with missing ballast, different aftermarket fuel pump(I have an extension cord to battery for ground with power plugged into fuse lol), multiple wires poking out of about 5 areas in the cab and less under hood, also no egr bpt (this one is messing with me cause i cant find it anywhere) and really rotten frame rails. Oh the things I want to do the previous owner, but hey first things first I need spark and fuel it has great compression. And yea frame pieces are on their way also.
  6. I have a 77 280z and I got her missing pieces so to make this short I want to run a msd box and lose this ign system thats missing peices. I called msd and they said all I need is to convert to only their ign box is to convert my dizzy to magentic pickup is this even possible and how. Thank you for your time and help. So help me god i will turn this into a stable daily driver hopefully with a little of your knowledge
  7. sooo 83 dizzy needs no ballast and can run same computer if so thats my answer at least for testing i wont need a ballast but for day-to-day driving i think it might be required and would i still need 83 dizzy if a got a new ignition box (aka msd crane) to elimanate need for ballast and would one of those elimanate my old transisterized ignition module sorry for all the questions and thank you soooo much for answers
  8. yea i was only planning on using them for baking and if i ever need a bore i dont think ima trust their opinion on such matters and really 1000whp damn go nissan thanks for the info
  9. thanks for all the responce didnt mean to offend anyone it was an idea tossed at me by a machine shop guy for a strong durable rebuild if it was something more common like porting or messing with oil passages or coolant passages for better flow like how they always put those restrictors in their to boost oil pressure in other areas of the motor on some older designed motors
  10. to make the bottom end of the motor stronger come on now why would you want to use arp head bolts over stock they are just stronger and first datsun i had lost a rod dont want his one to when i finish building her

  12. hey has anybody ever heard of makin this block a 4 bolt main with the 4 bolts at a 45 degree angle instead of the 2 bolts at 90
  13. ok to start its a 77 280z when i got it the fuel pump was wired to the fuse box via a home extension cord it did run but yea this was a red flag i was in for some big time wiring problems. i am tring to put his all back to right and need some help. i have looked at wiring diagrams and it says it goes to the relay makes sense but where the heck is it. I cant find this green and blue wire can some one please point this out to me. Also it had a house electrical socket with wires jammed for a ballast as you can quess it dont work now and i cant find a ballast resister anywere to replace and a buddy said to put it straight to the coil do i do both wires or just the one power. and sorry to keep ranting off questions but would a msd 6al or crane hi-6 boxes eliminate the need for the datsuns transisterized ignition system box? please help me out i am tried off looking at it and am selling my cbr 900rr for more cash for this build thank you for your time
  14. thank you for the checking but i am sure my coil is dead i ohm and its no good but are you guys after 75 using them (ballast resistors) or is this mess supposed to be a junction box?
  15. i got a 77 280z for bascaily getting the thing running and driving it home but it came with some fun problems and parts missing but things happen. anyways i seem to have a house outlet box wired into my dizzy, coil and some sensors on the drivers side. before i had spark and it was fuel that kept it from running but now its spark. anyone have a part number for this thing so i can get one or do i have to hardwire it in because their was no ballast resister. sorry its long thanks for your time and advice
