Yah, your cam is oiled via the cam lobe holes. A spray bar wouldn't work on your setup anyway since don't have holes in your cam towers to feed the spray bar.

That was my suspicion as well, but just wanted someone else to blame when it all goes wrong....er I mean I just wanted a second opinion.

    Thanks much.

  2. Alright gang.  Stupid question amnesty time, but I want to be sure before I eat a cam up.

I have a "C" stamped cam on a N42 head.  It looks like the cam has the holes for the internal oiling.  I just want to verify that I do not need to run a spray bar.  From the info I can find around here, it's difficult to tell how the N42s and 260 cams were lubricated.

    Thanks guys.

  3. I've had this happen several times.  All the power for the head lights goes through the combination switch (headlight switch).  As soon as you start getting any resistance in the switch, it starts to heat up.  I had one actually get pretty crispy.  I'm surprised I never smelled the thing starting to melt.  Replace the switch, keep it nice and corrosion free, and look into using relays for your headlights.

  4. A little history on the Z. My dad bought it for my mom in hopes of keeping her from buying a Mitsu 3000gt. I inherited it in 1996. In June of 2005, with 271,000 miles on the clock, I decided it was time for a refresh. A refresh turned into a rebuild, and I got bogged down by a severe case of the "while I'm at it" syndrome. After several starts and stops, a new house, and a new baby, I've put my nose to the grind stone and it is time to get the thing on the road.

  5. I just got a '03 VW GTI for my DD. I'm trying to find a nice "hybridZ"-esque forums to get info from. More "This is how you do this." and less "Yo, we be ballin' in the veedubs."

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. My searches are turning up with nothing. I guess I'm just spoiled.

  6. I've been trying to find a post I saw here a long time ago. Much searching, but to no avail.

Anyway, what I'm looking for was a CPU that took the inputs from your switches, then output out to whatever devices they were supposed to control. You could set different parameters such as light dimming delay ect....

If anyone has any info, throw it up.

    Thanks

  7. Hey gang.

I need some help figuring out what Holley I have here. I've gotten the all the numbers that are stamped on the thing and the closest I could find was a 580 that was sold on the 66-67 Corvettes. But when I got the rebuild kit for that carb, it turned out it wasn't for a matching carb. If any of you guys could point me in the right direction so I can finally get this thing tuned. If I slowly accelerate, it is fine, but it I get on it, it falls on its face. I'm not sure if I'm running lean or rich or whatever. Anyway, before I digress any further....

If any of you guys could tell me which adjustment screw is for the idle and which one is for the power circuit.

  8. Honda did just that on the 94 Acura Integra. The B18c engine has an intake plenum with two sets of runners, one long (low speed) and one set shorter. A butterfly valve switched to the short runners at approx 5800 rpm. Not an ITB but different intake runners. System works well.

I have a '94 Acura Vigor. 2.5L inline 5 with the dual runners and the butterfly valve. I have also been trying to think of a way to incorporate this into a custom Z intake mani.

  9. I actually finished this today. You have to take the roll pin out of the collar to get it to come off the base of the distributor. Then take a drill, and drill the splines out of the bottom side of the collar. Then the end of the spindle needs a bit of "machining." If you just look at the NA spindle and the Tubo dizzy, it should make sense.

Sorry I dont have any pics to show. I do know that there is are some pics on one of the Z31 ECU swap threads.

  10. I looked into buying a Tib a few years ago. From the research I did, it looked like Hyundai was making a big push in their quality control dept. JD Powers had them ranked up there with Honda and Toyota in new car quality. I think they looked at how many cars had to come back for work within the first 100 days after purchase. As for middle and long term quality, I'm not sure.
