if more pictures are needed please let me know. saturday is going to be the day i disassemble the car for sure. any parts that are good will be removed and photographed i will describe everthing as best as possible, i'm not lookin to fool anyone just wanna get this car gone and make some money in the process. i just want everyone to know i cannot be sure of any electrical parts on the car since all of the grounds were melted through most of the car. i will try and get back to everyone asap. if you dont hear from me please remind me. thanks

crap. i would like to have an actual `83 tranny in my 130. but i dont really need a motor. if it was a turbo, id kill for 500 for both...
i do NEED your door panels, so id like a price for those, and when you could ship them, and for how much. MIGHT take those seats... mine came leather, would like to go back with leather, but i cant find any shop that can get the cloth pieces for them, so ill talk to my father (helping me restore the car.) and im more than willing to take the wheels off the orange car off your hands
i can check the vin on the car and make sure of the rear and get back to you. as for the door panels they do have some staining and such. it is a 20 somethin year old car. the one handle trim is broken on the passenger side and the seats also have some faiding on the vinyl sides and on the corners and such. i havent seen any tears or anything i just want you to know. i cant get more pics for you aswell if you like. the wheels on the orange car are prolly gunna stay on it at this time however. let me know

also, how much for the side/rear badges?
you can have the side and rear badges for $30 but i know atleast one of them is getting that transparent plastic look to it so if you dont want them i understand. just let me know

how much for the dash? would you be willing to ship to cali (91402). noticed in an earlier post you pefered not too, just wondering.
i was thinkin about $200 for the dash, you can have all pieces associated with it such as the glove box cover and radio area,but i want you to know the previous owner cut up the radio section below the radio for some reason and the glove box incert is broken. you can also have all gauges in it along with the speedometer and all that, but some of the wiring was melted right before the connectors so the gauges may not work. just so you know it will not come with a vin on it. let me know if you want it or not, or what your exactly wanting since the radio section is pretty heavy if you dont need it that will save you on shipping. i can get more pics of it if you like. it is fading so some dye may be needed but it is in good shape from what i can see.

How is the passanger side fender? I can see it, but is it rust and dent free? Will it fit a 280zxt? how much shipped to 43760 if so?
the passenger side fender has the dent just below the trim panel. the pictures above show it. other then the dent its pretty much rust free maybe a few tiny dents here and there. i'm not sure if it will fit a zxt. you may wanna research that otherwise i can go measure my regular zx and the fender of the 2+2 if you cant find any info

im looking for a few small int. parts, i need to find the passenger side kick panel, the driver side pillar cover, and both side arm rests for the doors. do you still have any of them?
both arm rests are there you can see them in the pics. i will look for those other parts and let you now if i have them. i believe the drivers side pillar cover is there not sure about the kick panel.

i do have the headrest for the passenger seat in the car also. it was taken off the seat for some reason. here are the rest of the pics.

i would like to get around i dunno 500 for the motor and transmission as a complete assembly. i dont really wanna seperate the two, i would also like it to be picked up or i can meet whoever half way as long as it isnt to far. i live in yankton south dakota 57078. let me know what you guys think. i am open to offers however.

what rear end does that thing have (r180/r200,) also, is it an auto, or a stick?
not sure on the rear end, it has a manual tranny though.

i am interested in some parts you got there. understandable with the full time job however could you take some interior pics as well as the other side of the vehicle? i ask cause im interested in the dash and possible front driver fender and light bucket.
the dash is already removed. it looks to be in very good shape. its red and doesnt have any cracks. some of the vents have the louvers broken though. i can get you pics. if i remember correctly the headlight buckets are in good shape as is the drivers side fender. but i will get pics tonight and get back to you.

like the title says i'm going to be stripping my 82 or 83 2+2 280zx hopefully in the next few days. i was just going to see if anyone is interested in any parts off of it. the cars wiring is fried completely. it has less then 150,000 miles on the motor and i was told it had the transmission rebuilt not long before the battery was put in backwards resulting in the burnt wiring. i was also told the thing ran great before then, i cannot guarentee any electrical parts to be good on the engine however, since it cannot run in its condition. it has been siting for atleast 4 years not running. it has a 5spd transmission. the interior is shot for the most part.(seats need recovering, plastic panels have vinyl pealing off but for the most part are in good shape). floors seem to be decent but not perfect small holes towards the front and back. all the windows are good and everything is there for the most part. i am keeping the front windshield since mine is shot on my other car. let me know if you are interested in anything and i can check on its condition and let you know. i will try and get back to you as soon as possible but i do work a fulltime job.

well if anything its a good starting point or a "clean slate" to start the build of an awesome 510. it's terrible to see a nice car like that end up a shell. i guess if it was me i would just make it better then it was before regardless. lol its only money right, they just grow it on trees and give it away these days haha. but seriously that sucks man

i agree with everyone. it isnt for the fact that i"m gunna make money on it. i just like the ar and want to work on it cuz its difforent and i lke the way it looks. its good to hear i'm not the only one that doesnt care in the end haha

one thing i didnt mention is that my dad comes from the world of rebuilding salvage cars and selling them. he wont buy anything if he cant make money off it. the model a is the only exception i can ever think of. big thing i'm waiting on is my tax return for buyin my house. it takes 30-90 days to get so i'm tryin to save up till then. he's giving me a 25x30 behlin steel frame building that he has layin around at the farm. he baught it 7 ish years ago for $500 and its been sitting in pieces ever since then. i just have to get the the wood for inbetween the steel framing and pour the foundation n stuff. concrete is rediculous

yeah i can read the numbers. my dad has had camaro's , chevelles, all kinds of stuff. right now we have a model a tudor sedan 2door sitting in the shop right now in pieces. its almost complete with very few rust holes. He says if it was a camaro or mustang or somethin like that he would be fine with it. i guess the only thing that makes me mad is the fact that if i was doin this much work to a camaro with 272k miles on it, it would be worth just as much as the datsun but never close to as unique. you can buy kit camaro's now. why would i want something everyone has ya know. my plans to get the garage finished first and continue the work on the datsun from there. it runs and it drives only problem is you can watch the road pass you by as you do it haha.

I recently baught my first datsun, coming from a very muscle car oriented family as you can imagine my dad isnt very happy with my decision to work on a car with some exstensive body and structural work i e rust in the floors quarters and rails, with it being 26 years old and having 272k miles i dont mind since its basically regular daily driver use over that time. He wants me to sell it or part it out and i think not. keep in mind i am on my own (21) and own my own home. but i am in the process of putting a garage up which he thinks i should be trying to get done first. I understand his point but theres no reason the car cant sit till the garage is done. MY question to everyone is. with all the money you have put into your datsun to make it the way you want it, do you feel it was worth the time and money instead of picking a difforent brand? am i waisting my time on a car with to many miles and to much rust or should i ignore him? Every car i had before that he made me sell i regret doing so to this day. your input would be greatly appreciated.

i guess my point of the whole thing was always look at the simplest things first. it would have left me with hours to spare to work on other parts of the car. hope this helps someone if they have the same issue

Just thaught i would share my resent issue i had with my 83 280zx. I was having issues with the brake lights staying lit. so after work today i decided to look into it. I checked the switch which i thaught would be a little strange to stick shut, but the car had been sitting for 3 years so who knows. The switch checked out fine on my meter. so i went back to the tail lights and worked my way from the back of the car to the front thinking it was a short some where. may i also mention i still havent baught a manual which would have helped alot. well basically after hours of wire tracing i found nothing. so i went back to the brake switch and noticed some holes where the contacter should be hitting the brake lever. so i went to my parts car and my car was missing the little brake switch bumpers. i put them in and of course they work fine. what a day.

No mystery really on those, they were offerd by JC. Whittney automotive cataloug in the '80's. Eribuni or Erebuni, sold them till about '99.

i will be selling them. right now i'm in the middle of cleaning the car out. stripping out all the carpet and removing the factory sound insulation crap to determine how i will fix the rust damaged floors. the side skirts are in ok shape the passenger side rear corner is damaged on the bottom side and missing some of the corner. its not very noticeable until you get down and look at it. There where no rear quarter skirts there where some on it at one time but they are long gone. i can get pics if you want. just let me know. for all that may be woundering. the wing will be sold also.

this spoiler was on the car when the last owner got it along with a fiberglass fron airdam but he didnt care for the spoiler and the front airdam was shot so he took it off.
i think the wings gotta go, its definetly not for me. side skirts will be taken off to. just have to work up the courage to take them off. lol the thaught of more rust damage scares me. i'm already going to have to put in new floor pans and rails but as beautiful of a car as it is. i think its worth it.

from what i read it should have an r200 since its either an 82 or 83 i believe. i am going to check the vin and validate the year for sure and i will hopefully get the diff out on sat. i can have pics of it then.
