I am doing along the same idea, i cut out the spare tire, put new floor across, so that i can run dual exhaust out both sides. i put in a new gas tank out of a 69 mustang actually bc it has a flat top and the center top mount filler, bc i am always running a center fill gas cap. I have to do a lot more to finish it but when i get my rear panel done i can take some pictures. Need to update you guys anyways.

Running Stock 260z carbs, what i have in mind is to clean up the engine bay and get some things tucked away so looks cleaner. like putting fuel line on fire wall and switch fuel rail around so open ends also face fire wall, think will work?

I have a quick question, been looking to see if anyone else as asked but no luck so far so thought would just ask. Can i run just an electric fuel pump at the tank without having to run the mechanical pump on the motor?(Remove the mechanical all together) If so what pressure would i have to run? Thanks for any replys

Hey, i need your guys advise. I recently put on a 6 to 1 header off one of my spare engines, cleaned it all up and painted it, looked really nice. Got it put on my car(Datsun 260z), car ran really good for a few days. Then was heading farther out of town and the car starts to bog and putter really bad. Kept on getting worse and worse, and then started to backfire through the carbs. Had to come home on a hook. Any suggestions, what to check, and what might be the problem. Should i rip the header back off and put stock manifold back on, i hear that the side drafted carbs can be really finicy, for that. Any advise would help thanks.

No i don;t believe he did, all i know is that the car sat for like 8 years like 2" off the ground soo. yaa look what happened. I know i am barve but it has lots of good part si took off that i didn;t get pics of yet. So i am hoping that i can get this 240z and put all my stuff into that one after i clean and doing everything to the motor etc, like painting it etc.

Cool thanks, yaa i was thinking it was going to be a lot of work. I know where i can get another early 240z for like $1200 complete and said that the car in very early stages of rust like just surface so would be able to use that for a good car to start on. just have to come up witht he money. So now i guess i will just finish stripping out the rest of the one i got now and use the parts. But i am not complaining i only had to payto get car home form like a few blocks away, with the flat deck(because cross member rusted off ) so i am not lossing anything. PLus the only i got has like a mint dash in it, and iknow how hard supposedly it is to find one like that. So thanks again for the info.

OK i know i haven't got the pics up of my car yet, but i was just wondering if i have to how hard would it be to make a full tubular frame i have seen some guys witht the front of the car as a tubular frame and looks good. Just a question? any advise would be a help. just thinking this because of how bad, the frame and floor are. Pics soon, snow is gone.

Well i am not sure about doing 85-90, but i do know that in 5th on the highway doing about 100-110kms the car was revving at about 3000-3500. Sorry couldn;t be more help been awhile since i owned it. Why what you thinking of? for gearing?

You guys will love the gearing in the 240sx, i owned one, and i loved to grab the gears in that thing, so i can just imagine with the bigger motor and epesically the turbo if some one is doing it, will have a blast with it. i would love to do this once i get the body done on mine.

Hey, everyone, i just got signed up on the site tonight, and just wanted to say HI, and that i am glad i fianlly got a Datsun 240z that i can work on, haas always been a car that i ahve wanted to own and drive. Mine is really bad shape though, and goin to need lots of work, but i am not complaining i only had to pay for the tow bill to my house. I hope to get some pics up for all you, but hard bc still lots of snow up here. Even though it need slots of work i might just use it as a parts car to restore another one. I know where i can get a complete one with efi, for about $1200. and it is supposed to be in way better shape i just have to look underneath this summer and check it all out. But a good thing is that, mine that i have, has a mint dash in it, that right a mint one, no cracks or anything which is crazy for the weather we get up here. Also has mint seats no rips, origional ones too. I got 2 motors witht he car both dual carbed and i have the crome rims, pretty sure not stock. So when i get the pics up tell me what you think should start out with etc, remember though for me, money tight because of college for now, until summer. Thanks
