  1. Thanks for all the ideas, I think a 2 tone done properly could accent the flares nicely. I will be powdercoating the rear diffuser black most likely. It's either gonna be dark gun metal sides with black roof, or just all black. So many combinations could look great, yellow sides and black roof with black wheels would look cool but I'm not really a fan of yellow. I also like all black wheels, had some silver lips on my 02 z06 then went all black and it's much better looking. The more I think about it the more I wanna glass the rear flares on instead of zuess's. I've seen a few yz kits and some dont look good to me, to make the car look right it has to sit really low and have a properly sized wheel with the right profile tire.

  2. Black on top red on the bottom? Either way with those flares i dont think anyone is going to be looking for waves. :2thumbs:

ya I think that would look nice with a silver pin stripe between the colors, I'm kinda leaning towards all black, also might be fiberglassing in the rear flares instead of just zuess fastners.

  3. Hey everyone it's been a while!! Finally ready to paint the car, it's going to the bodyshop this coming tuesday. I'm trying to figure out what color to paint it. I would like to do it all black again but with all the fiberglass on the sides I'm not sure if it will look ok? I have been thinking of doing a 2 tone style on it and running the line at the top of the flares across the body. I've thought of red sides and black top, red top white sides, just trying to paint the sides a lighter color to hide the waves of the fiberglass. I could do silver sides black roof also. I'm going to be powdercoating the wheels all black so I think it would look good with the silver sides. Give me some opinions on the paint, It would probably look sick all black with the black wheels and I might still do it but a properly done 2 tone would look nice also.

  4. It's getting close to maybe running one day lol. So far we have the full yz kit mounted up with Zuess fasteners, the front bumper has been pulled in a few inches because I thought it stuck out to far. The car has a more race style interior, no more 12 inch woofers and stereos, now it's all sheetmetal. I just had the headers fabbed up, before they were 1 5/8 now they are 1 7/8 with burns stainless 3' collectors dual 3 mandrel with x pipe and burns stainless race mufflers. All tubular control arms, same brake kit and stiffer springs. I'm running a procharger F1-R with a 12 rib setup. The blower bracket has been beefed up has a extra support to get rid of the deflection when you tighten the belt. Got rid of the stock computer for a fast full sequential system, still have to install it and get the car wired up custom because the stock harness is gone. Car still needs doors and a hatch before it can be painted so I'm looking for that stuff now. I'm hoping to get it running within 6 months at the most. I dont know how much more power it's gonna make with the F1-R and the better computer system but I'm sure it's gonna be insane!! Cant wait to get some sick new footage of the car tearin it up again. Check out the gallery on my website for some new pics of the car and a small video of it rolling out of my garage.

  5. I think the guy at procharger said like 18lbs, comp is 8:5:1. The stock heads are probably holding me back but it had so much power before. I figure running the fast full sequential with the proper tune and the bigger blower will do the job, if not some afr's and a hogans intake will do it for sure.

  6. So are yours "home engineered" or did you get them off the shelf ?

I bought them from arizona z car like a year ago. I'm glad I got people interested in the v8 Z, I can still remember the 1st ride I had in one, it was awesome having v8 power and sound in a small car that handled good. I've had the car for 12 years now and I've probably only put 5000 miles on it if that. This time when I get it running again it's gonna stay running!!

  7. I'm back!! Paying some attention to the z again. I'm trying to have it running in the next few months. Motor is pretty much the same as before with upgrades like procharger F1-R blower, full sequential fast system, yz flair kit, 17x12 HRE 545's, twin disc Mcleoud clutch, better fuel system, tubular control arms, fiberglass hatch, lexan rear window, lexan side windows. I know I've shaved a few hundred pounds of the car from the way it sat before. No more stereo, amps woofers etc, no carpet, all panels are fiberglass, gutted doors. I'm waiting on the blower and intercooler, the car needs to be re aligned, has no wiring whatsoever, and need to be painted but all mounting of the panels are complete just need to get the doors mounted. It was more of a street car before now it's full race. Once I get it running and figured out it's gonna get some AFR's and a hogans intake to make a little more power but more than likely the F1-R is gonna make the thing insane already. I'm shooting for at least 700 rwhp. I cant wait to post up another video of the thing doin what it does best, but for now here's some pics, Darius

  8. Those clear covers I had are long gone, they dont stay clear or look good for very long. The rims I have now are 17x8 Hre 545's. I'm not sure yet about headlight's, I will either mount something in the airdam or cut out something in the fender's. I think 19's would look crazy, I have been looking at Ted Fishers car with 18's and they look pretty big, I havent seen or heard of a z with 19's either.

  9. I am debating on what size rims to put on my car, I just installed the yz flair kit and got some more room. I want to put 19's cause I think it would look crazy, but I would have to sacrifice tire size to do it, a 285-30-19 is 26 in diameter, the 17x8's that I have with a 235-40-17 are 24.5, the ones I want 335-30-19 are 27.4 and I dont think that would fit, they might fit but I wouldnt be able to get the car very low, and I want it as low as possible. A 335-35-17 is only 26 in diameter and is 13.4 wide, the widest out of all of them. New rims will cost 23-2600, I can get my 17's widened for 300 a rim=1200, what size do you think I should go with??

  10. I know some of you are gonna cringe when you see the pics, but I had to do it!! I need traction and this seemed like the best way, I am probably going to sell the rims pictured, I could get them widened but I would like to fit some 19's if possible. I should have it painted within a month, and running in 2. What do you think??

  11. I have a computer and wiring harness for sale, I purchased it from street n performance in Arkansas, it's a full wiring harness and computer, everything you need to get a lt-1 running in any car, plug in all the plugs, connect power-ground and ignition power from key and your ready to go, I paid $700+, will sell for 400. I have a speed pro system now so I dont need it, everything is in great shape, not good for high HP supercharged Lt-1, works great for N.A motors up to 600hp, email at darius240z@yahoo.com if you want it, D
