  1. The only way you might have a chance to stop your( OUR )obsession is to see a shrink. I don't know which is cheaper though.

My wife is always giving me a hard time about all the money I am spending on cars.So I told her I'd give them up and start spending my extra cash and time in ATC'S, hunting, fishing,golfing..... she got the point. John C

  2. I'm running 125 -150 hp plate system.Even

with drag radials or slicks I can only use it in second and third due to such an increase in torque.

125 hp nitrous systems can be run with mild small blocks, as long as you have good ignition and feul systems.

  3. Andrew,

Thanks for the info, but I have one more question. Does your header have a flange at the end of the collector to bolt your exhaust on?

P.S. The first race around here is May 5th, which means you and Scottie have a little over 2 months to get into the 10's and then I'm shooting for high 9's.... I hope.

  4. Chris,

I have the super comp hookers from Summit designed for the 240.They were bought around 6 years ago,so I don't know if they are still available.

The small Msd distributor I am using has around 3/4 of an inch clearance from the firewall. Hope this helps.

  5. I have my rear bar off and front bar on and run an open diff. I don't have any wheel hop at all and was told by a guy at the track that the car was pulling both front tires 1 to 2 inches evenly. I haven't had any time to dial my carb or suspension yet ,but I know there's lots of room for improvement. Your best bet Jeff is to make 3 runs with the rear bar hooked up,and three unhooked. Good luck!

  6. Jeff I have had great luck with the independant rear and I love the handling .I was worried at one time they couldn't stand up. I think becuase my z has an automatic, stock coils and no rear sway bar is why it still lives. I had installed 4 half shaft loops before my last race with the slicks for piece of mind, ran consistant 1.60 60 foot times and cut .550 lights. Proving if you take into account the squat, the z cars can react too.

  7. It's true about the NHRA rule concerning the feul cell being inside the passenger compartment,as I was warned to change it before I returned to the strip. I have also noticed that if the poly feul cells staps are tightend to much they will collaspe the cell top and bottom.I run a harwood 8 gallon cell with foam and 2 outlets,it's small and compact with no collapsing. Blkmgk I like the idea of the trap door above the cell, sounds NHRA legal.

  8. Thanks for the info guys, but I still have a question on the axle stub size. I picked up an early 280z,76 I think and I want to know if the stub is larger at the bearing surface?I understand it has a 27 spline instead of the 240's 25. I would like to have the largest, strogest stub shafts possible . Thanks.
