  1. Very impressive! When are you going back to the track?
  2. Ouch! Looks like it's time for an Ultrabell. You should probably check your pump and converter neck.
  3. I have had my personal plate for 3 years now.It matches the car since it comes from Japan and it has a monster engine.
  4. Satan I would like to be able to kill it off the line like jnjdragracing, but I leave the line at 1800 and quickly shove the throttle down engaging the nitrous 30-40 feet from the starting line.I used to run 1.46 60 foots with the small block and ran a best of 1.50 60 foot with the big block on an "easy launch".The engine is built for nitrous and there is a fogger kit in the garage along with a progressive nos controller to be installed. I am fairly confident that it could be in the eights with this same rear setup, but I would have to be very careful on how I launched. I also have an r230 rear sitting in the garage to be installed at a later date. 726 hp 664tq flywheel on pumpgas no nos
  5. Well I'm still running stock 71 240 half shafts and stubs.Rear is a 3.73 r200 (welded diff) with few hundred passes on this setup plus years of street abuse. I have broken 1 halfshaft u joint with a 406 sbc on 150 shot of spray and 1 with a 496 BBC on a 210 shot of juice. The car has run 10.23 with a sbc on spray.BBC ran 9.36 @ 148 with an easy launch on a 150 shot of juice, et streets and mufflers.
  6. That's wicked sounding! Can't wait to see a full pass! What spring rates front and rear are you running? Also race weight? Thanks John C
  7. I am also waiting to see how the high hp tq guys make out with this conversion.
  8. Has anyone completed this swap yet?I have been watching this forum and I'm on the fence about going this route or solid axle swap.I want to keep my 240 IRS as long as I can. Thanks John C
  9. Firion_13 I'll let TwinTurbo know you have a couple of questions for him.I don't know how often he visits this site. John C
  10. Hey Grumpy check Atlanticz.ca and go into the members gallery. My name is John Chandler and there's a couple good shots of my car with the big block in it.
  11. The problem with your tires is the rear suspension,it doesn't plant the tires under power.Thats the downfall of the irs,I know becuase I had the same problem a few years back with the bfg drag radials blowing of at 60-70 mph.My only satisfaction in traction was to swicth to et steets, handling baaadd but traction gooood.
  12. I knew someone would say that! They are street trim to me at 18 lbs,and I don't race around turns.I buy a new set every spring and sell them in the winter.I've done this 4 years now,and drive 20 minutes each way to work.
  13. 71 240Z 2850lbs with driver. It runs 10.80 on the motor and 10.20 with a 125 horse shot of nos on pump gas in street trim.My 60 foots are 1.46-1.52. 406 with airflowresearch 190 heads 400 turbo with 3200 stall et streets Hooker headers 3inch pipes and flowmasters R 200 3.70 John C

    Blew It Up!!!

Sorry you lost the small block Ron,but you must admit the Datsun sure gets a lot more attention than most of the other drag cars.I know mine does. Shove that big block back in there man! John C
  15. I've had a set on my 240 for the last 3 years.I have pics,but I don't know how to post them. John C
  16. You're in the high tens with a quicker 60ft!Love the video of the 125mph run! John C
  17. They stand lots.My 406 makes 435 ftlbs at the wheels on the moter and 535 with a 100 shot of juice. It's the one wheel burnout's in the bleach box that kill the spider gear shaft.Put a posi in it or weld up the carrier. John C

    Top Speed?

I only had my 240 up to 136mph,in the 1/4. Speedo isn't hooked up so I don't know if it's been any faster on the street. John C
  19. Pete, You wouldn't happen to be using a MSD 6 series ignition box? If so you should be using a high quality non tracking rotor and cap.Install with clean hands. I had the same problem with my LS6 a few years backs.I ended up using a MSD pro billit distributer.(4 years no problems). John C
  20. I havn't seen a Skoda in years.Butt ugly. John C
  21. I tell people it's a Skoda!Haha. John C
  22. You're lucky that hundred shot of nos didn't blow the welds on the intake. John C
