  1. sorry to bust your bubble... but my friend is an older filipino man who doesnt go anywhere near drugs. the guy he bought it from lived in vallejo... which if your not from around here is like a slightly smaller version of Oakland.

  2. hey guys. johnny finally let us in on why it was so cheap....

basically, the guy who sold it to him is a druggie and ran out of money, and needing his fix, he sold the car. i guess he called him back yesterday and asked if he could buy it back, but johnny said no haha.

a dyno wont do any good right now, the clutch is toast apparently. thats also gonna be fixed soon.

  3. nice... hey do you have a number for AZN? I need a quote. sweet car... I live in Fairfield... let me know if you go to any meet, I want to see that car...

i dont know the number, no. sorry. PM me and ill send you my number though... i dont go to meets as im all outta Z's now, but im still active here. haha.

  4. dyno? it doesnt have a lot of goodies... just 3" catless exhaust (not mandrel bent... bad welds) intake filters and the IC w/ 2 BOV's. rb25det tranny. boost may be higher than normal, but i dont know what it even runs at. dyno just doesnt seem necessary to me... plus i think AZN has one... i dont think he'd go to dublin =/

  5. I guess the guy who owned it previously to my buddy got into some financial trouble, or something. i dont know the details. but he tells me he paid 600 bucks for it. its a steal. the wiring harness is going to be redone for him for free at AZN motorsports in Vallejo, CA... he is best friends with the owner. i get to drive it next saturday!

  6. Cool... I drove one of those a few years ago when I was working on construction sites.. 4-5 guys in it, and a box full of garbage, tools, ect, and the thing would just haul azz.. First time I stomped it to the rug I was blown away with how much 'omph' it had down low.. just pushes you in the seat. LOTS of fun in the mud too. :)

Hell yes they do. my mom and dad have a 02 excursion with the 7.3... my dad bought a superchips micomax tuner for it, WOW. it spins the tires in an EXCURSION! 360hp and 705 ft-lbs at 2000rpm. quite a fun ride. mom got her first ticket in a long time pulling our trailer to oregon in it haha.

  7. hey guys. my parts guy at work just bought a 240sx (s13) for $600. what he didnt know was that it had a skyline motor in it! he knew it was turbo, and he knew it wasnt stock, but he didnt think it was a skyline motor. (hes a toyota guy, go figure! haha)

i have pics and a 2 minute AVi video, if someone can host them. its not the GREATAST or most modded car ever, but its quite cool. very nice score!

  8. hey guys. its been awhile since i posted here.

my 81 280zx 5 speed ate its rear end back in january. i decided to buy a new car and just fix this one later on down the road. so here i am, i bought a new r180 (well, its used from a 85 PU 4x4) and everything works in the mounting, BUT my driveshaft wont go into the pinion flange. the driveshaft circle on the very end, is 2 1/4" across, and the flange is only 2" across. it wont fit into it... i remember the driveshaft fitting into the old differential, so im curious what to do.

can i swap the flange out with a different one that fits the driveshaft, or do i need to get a differnet driveshaft? or am i stuck and have to use a different dif?

    thanks

    -phil

  9. Haha. Nope. I knew for a fact the hydraulics were okay. Got the new plate and friction disc in today, and it works like a dream. unfortunately i broke the exhaust and have to run open header until tommorow morning.

  10. i love this stuff, man.

i have a 81 280zx, NA, w/ 5 speed, and 2 seater. The clutch started slipping, so i bought a clutch kit and flywheel from NAPA. turns out they gave me the wrong clutch kit (they gave me one for a 2+2), right flywheel. so then they tell me i cant get the right one until monday (today). i went to AutoZone (EEK!) and got the right size clutch. Put it in, Still slips. pulled the tranny out, looked to be all ok, put it back, figuring we'd installed it wrong the first time. Nope. Still Slips. So the clutch from NAPA comes in today, and im gonna have the kit from them in today.

I'm thinking my original pressure plate went bad, and then the plate from AutoZone was bad to begin with. Anyone agree? Other possibilities? Hydraulics are all ok.
